South Beach Resort Hotel Cottages and Marina - Hotel in Lakeside Marblehead - 8620 E Bayshore Rd, USA

The room was filthy. There was a donut on the floor when we arrived that was not ours. So they couldn’t have vacuumed. I don’t think they even wash all the bedding. There was a brown stain on a sheet. The jets in the tub are moldy and and the tub looked dirty. The room smelled incredibly musty. No deadbolt on the door. The outdoor area looked nice. But we’ll never return.

The hotel rooms are extremely unsafe for small children. The doors have no deadbolts on them. Your child is able to open the door at anytime with no way of locking them. When mentioning my concerns to staff nothing was done to remedy the situation. I could hardly sleep without worrying about our two year old waking up in the middle of the night and escaping. We have stayed at numerous resorts in the last year or so and there has been deadbolts on the door. The walls in the hotel are paper thin and you can hear people talking between them. Our first night our two year old cried as we tried really hard to get him settled down for bed. We got a letter on our door the next day regarding “several noise complaints” regarding our children. Our youngest just turned 2 a couple months ago. You can’t really control a 2 year old crying we obviously were trying to settle him down for bed the best we could. Made us feel extremely on edge in our room and uncomfortable. Doesn’t feel kid friendly. Kids did really enjoy the pools and the playground that is probably the only nice part to our stay. Tv has no channels besides ESPN. Major downside as what are our kids supposed to do in the rooms if we have 3 kids that are supposed to be quiet at all times in a tiny room??

Nice, clean hotel. Beautiful pool but should sweep the bottom. Wish there was a refrigerator and microwave in our room. Pretty view. Would like to see the restaurant and bar open back up. Great location and restaurants in the area. Don't think ATVs should be allowed, not that big of an area.

Had a wonderful time here the room was perfect size for 4 adults. We were able to bring our boat and drop it in at their lil marina that has a breaker wall for waves so your boat doesn’t get beat up, cusps to the owners for building that! The check in was an easy process and the staff could not be more helpful. We were able to hang with other friends who stayed in the cottages and grill out and have fun. Thank you again for a wonderful place to stay for two days!

If your going to Put in Bay go on up to Port Clinton and stay. This is marked as a resort- nope! Had 4 pools outside' none inside. States breakfast available - nope only continental /cold foods. Not worth 200$/night. Coffee pot in room did not work. They didn't care. Advertised jetted tubs in rooms. Take a look at the black mold around the jets and drain.

I stayed here end of June. The resort staff were amazing. Great communication, welcoming, assisted with anything I needed. The location was also perfect and amenities are nice. The room however had a musty smell, and the toilet reeked. No fridge and microwave- which I was aware of before the stay- just didn’t realize how much I needed them lol. The walls are thin so expect to be up all night hearing banging, foot steps, and springs from the beds. Hard to fall asleep. And no way to contact front desk unless it’s an emergency/ or office hours. Not worth the money unless location and amenities are priorities to you.

A beautiful place! Great staff! Tons to do here! It's so amazing for kids! But they also have a nice quiet pool area for adults. The view is AMAZING! I can't wait to go back!

This was our first stay here. Let me say it was amazing. Great staff. Nice place. Would stay again. Shower was amazing. Remember return wrist bands and key cards ir there is a charge. Only suggestion I would have is to have mini fridge n microwave in room. But all good Just take OFF. Or in evening g we're long pants and shirts. Mosquito are bad on the lake. Not the hotels fault just a little prep.
