Restaurant is in a good location with ample parking. Decor is very nice. The food was kinda bland even though it looked and smelled delicious. Service was slow but they were busy so I guess that was the reason. Worth a try.
I am not sure how to describe this place other than it was a surprise. My husband and I went because of the reviews but it's not what it says it is. It is inspired by soul, but not of soul. It has a nice ambiance, but the food was ok, not really what I was looking for. The staff was nice, and very attentive to us, but if you are looking for soul FOOD this is not that.
Was greeted the second I walked in the door the hostess was very nice. I took a seat at the bar. I just loved the ambiance of the place and music selection. The bartender recommended his daily special cocktail, and I was glad he did. I started with the fried green tomatoes, and I have to say they were awesome. After that, I had the pork chop special that was also fantastic. The bartender was extremely helpful in helping me make decisions, and that is always a plus in my book. He definitely gave me the WOW FACTOR. Keep up the great work. Hats off to the Chef as well.
Went to this nice little grill near Carolina Beach. My beautiful life partner and I had dinner here after a day at the beach and boardwalk. We shared the Carolina dip. A cheesy crab dip with tortilla chips. Then we shared the full rack ribs with fries and slaw sides. The dip was very tasty with crispy roasted cheese edges. The ribs fell right of the bone with a tangy sweet bbq sauce. The fries were decent and crispy. The cold slaw was rather dry with little flavor. Experience was nice and we did leave satisfied.
Oh. Em. Gee... if I tell you this was top 10. Y'all have to go try it. The fried green tomatoes and the remoulade sauce with the grilled shrimp were amazing. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sauce... I wanted to lick it off. Then I got chicken cutlets. Amazingly juicy and crispy. I got the hopping John's. Well flavored. The collards... they were good, but it was lacking something, and I couldn't put my finger on it. They were still good, though. At that point the food was so good, I ordered the fish and chips to go. The catfish was cooked amazing!! I ate it cold the next day and still loved it. The tartar sauce was drinkable, it was that great, lol. I am too excited to fly back and eat there again. Do not miss out on this place. Parking can be tight, and that's really the worst part, but it still wouldn't deter me from going.
We had the best meal! After trying a different restaurant in the area and being completely let down, we decided to go to soul flavor. We already knew we were going to get delicious flavorful food, but it had been a long time since we've eaten here. It was a cold and rainy day. I wanted something that felt like home cooked comfort food, and I got exactly that. The chicken cutlets are everything I wanted them to be and more. They were tender with the perfect amount of light crispy breading. They came with collards and hoppin john, and let me tell you, it was all just the perfect amount of seasoning. My wife decided to get the shrimp tacos, and you could tell as soon as they hit the table that they were the freshest shrimp tacos on this entire island. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and had a great flavor. I don't even like shrimp, and I had a bite. They weren't dry and had just the right amount of sauce and cabbage. It was so cohesive and very well executed. The staff was great and we never waited too long for anything. Erica kept our glasses full and wasn't overly attentive. It was a great experience from the minute we arrived til we left. Perfect date night spot as well.
By far the best meal on the beach. Lucky enough to order the special that evening, Pork Chop with a smoked sausage gravy, collards and whipped potatoes. Let me tell you, it was amazing and the services was just as good. Can't wait to go back.
What a delightful experience! This is definitely the spot to go in Carolina Beach if you want something different, delicious, and memorable. The atmosphere was funky and fun. The dishes were thoughtful, flavorful and just what we were searching for. We will absolutely be back. We enjoyed the fried green tomato and shrimp appetizer with Baby Back Ribs, and beef stroganoff as our mains. Our 4 year old daughter declared “these are THE BEST chicken strips I have ever tasted”! So to say we were pleased might just be an understatement. If you’re looking for a spot with creative cocktails they have those too!

Where my dream started. Itâs all because a boy asked me on a date and he took me to this exact spot 8 years ago. Bbq burgers on the beach and watched a full moon rise! You could drive all the way down back then and it was much cheaper! Fast forward
Great location. And a good deal. The old-school 2nd-floor 2-BR suite was very clean. Nice view of Carolina Lake. Short walk to the beach. No complaints. Would/will do it again. Mary runs a tidy ship.
Loved Carolina Beach. The boardwalk fireworks show was the best I have ever seen in my life. Brits Donuts is a must, and all the shops are great. Super ice cream shops too.
Best run business in the area. Beyond efficient. Small breakfast house with delish home-cooked meals. Fresh and well prepared southern breakfast along with many new school options. Grits were among the best I've ever had. And I eat them several times
This is the place to go as a sushi lover! It was my 20th birthday and we decided to have a birthday dinner here. The fish was so buttery and fresh! I got salmon roe as well as sushi and it was so fresh that it tasted like they had just collected it
The last time I came here was 2018 but I finally came back and itâs just as wonderful! The crab dip is my favorite thing, but everything is delicious! The waitstaff is very friendly and polite and the atmosphere is super cozy and tropical. I will p
We stayed at the Seawitch on New Yearâs Eve. The lady running the motel was super friendly. We arrived a couple hours early. While we couldnât check in early since she was short staffed and the room wasnât ready yet, she did allow us to remain
Took the family at the end of August for our annual beach trip. First time staying here, but always go to the Carolina Beach Kure Beach area. Great little place for a family vacation. Couldn't have asked for anything more. It's right on the beach. Ac
Yum!! We came here for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Interior it's like a dinner with a beach theme. Given that you can see the marina while eating, the beach then certainly fits. The bacon was perfectly crisp without being overcooked. The bisc
