My husband and I visited Sophia's Lounge as part of our stay at The Ivey's. The lounge was decked out in holiday decor with low lighting that added to the ambiance. We checked in and headed straight to the bar for a complimentary glass of wine. We tried the truffle fries, charcuterie, and the lamb meatballs. Each dish had an amazing presentation and taste. As for drinks, we tried Sophia's Old Fashion, Purple Reign, and Your Highness. The Your Highness cocktail was by far our favorite. It was lightly sweet with the perfect mix of spices featuring a smoked cinnamon stick. Our server Jordan went above and beyond for us during our dining! We recommend a visit to Sophia lounge for anyone seeking a high end night out. The next day we headed back to Sophia's Lounge for breakfast. We tried the Omelette Lorraine, Sophia's French Toast, Chicken Apple Sausage, and the Queens City's Coffee. Once again the food was amazing and we had wonderful service.
We stayed at The Ivey’s Hotel & made our way from our hotel room to the lovely staircase down to Sophia’s Lounge. We also did a review of the Ivey’s Hotel. If you love art deco & the extraordinary, you absolutely must reserve a room for the night or two because you may not want to leave. There is a reason why Forbes has verified this property as one of the finest in the world. Everything was adorned in Christmas “the season” & it felt like a scene from the movie-The Holiday. Enchanting! The staff greeted us immediately. As a guest of the hotel you can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine in the lounge between 4 and 6 PM. Foodies! I recommend trying several dishes to “taste.” The menu does change after 10 pm on weekends so ask your server for details. The service was first class, with Carrie & also Jordan! We enjoyed the entire experience! My husband & I nearly fought over the handmade cookie dessert with the vanilla gelato on top! It was that good! In the late evening we returned to try the charcuterie and I had a mocktail. In the morning, we came back to have breakfast and Lynn our server made sure that we had everything we needed to make our breakfast, PERFECT! It’s hard to leave Sophia’s Lounge. I want to go back with a lovely journal and write a poem, or begin a novel. Yes, it feels like that. This place inspires! We highly recommend reservations! XO Josephine
Had a nice time at Sophia’s Lounge in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a really cool space. Would be good for a first date. Very loungey and had very comfortable chairs. The bar was really nice too. The bartender was super friendly and made a great drink. I’m not 100% sure but they were two bartenders and I think they were in charge of serving the whole place. I did order a wine and she forgot to give it to me and was very apologetic about it. We had the tequila drink and I wanted a dirty martini and they were both delicious. We ordered fries and they were delicious but they were ice cold. She gave us another order and they were even colder than the first. I was sad because if they were hot, they would’ve been delicious. We also had the sliders and they were good. I still would definitely go back!
Love the atmosphere. My wife and I were enjoying our drinks but were asked to move halfway through for some bigger table reservation that would be taking our table. Unbelievable unprofessional and ridiculous. Waiter (both of them we got 2 mind you be because we moved) were extremely slow and inattentive. Drinks= good Charcuterie Board: cheap and store bought. Got more banana peppers than actually meat and cheese for $35 bucks yea right. Bread was soggy with butter and the meat cheese tasted like Publix….lol. The chicken and waffles: don’t get!!! Waffles didn’t have enough butter. They fell apart unbelievably and were dry and tasteless. The chicken had NO seasoning in it at all and was overcooked. Weird for a “soul food” southern delight. Pitiful. Cookie ice cream dessert: Cookie was burnt not gooey or soft. Pot/pan was also burning to the touch, would have been nice to have prior warning from waiter. 2 shots of almerretto: they used general liquor here. Not even special or top shelf. Overall: $130 not worth spending. The vibe was nice but wow….service abysmal and food trashy.
The decor and mood are top-notch. The food still leaves a lot to be desired. The drinks are very tasty. However, I substituted tequila for the gin in the Purple Rein, and there was a $9 dollar up charge I was not told about. My bad for not asking, but I did NOT intend to spend $50 for 2 drinks. Buyer beware.
One of my best friend's scheduled a photoshoot here for her birthday. She invited her closest friends to partake and this place is BEAUTIFUL!! We have amazing shots thanks to great backgrounds and lighting.

Wonder cocktail and dessert experience. It was our waiter's first night, and he did amazingly handling the floor on his own. This would be a perfect date spot, and i look forward to returning.

Amazing event. The Tamra+ The Finnas Vintage Soul Session was so fun. I wish it was longer!!!! The roasted butter popcorn was good, although too salty for me... I guess it was expected. I love the art, the vibes. The people were singing and dancing j
