Sonesta Silicon Valley - Hotel in Milpitas - 1820 Barber Ln, USA

We came to San Jose for my husband’s birthday and stayed at this hotel. It is close to downtown. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the noise level was minimal. There is no free breakfast buffet and the one in the restaurant there $28.00. Parking is $18.00 nightly.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and it was amazing! Each staff member, especially Renee at the front desk was extremely welcoming and helpful from the moment we got there! Renee was the kindest and the most helpful employee we met in a while and was able to provide us with extra towels and answer any questions we had! The rooms are spacious, clean, and cozy. Check in and out process was smooth and quick! The amenities were incredible ! Breakfast buffet was amazing as well! I highly recommend this location for your stay!

Excellent service. Very clean and everyone was very nice. Close to event centers and light rail. Wished the restaurant opened earlier than 4 pm. Room was comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Levi Stadium. Was able to take the Light Rail to Levi Stadium that was just down the road.

I booked a last-minute stay through Priceline for this property. I was very happy that the pictures on the website and by other travelers were very accurate. Even though the hotel is older, the updates and renovations bring it to this century. The lobby, my room, the pool and hot tub were all great. I was pleasantly surprised that the pool and hotub are open from 5am to 10pm. Stephanie helped me upon my arrival with check-in. She was extremely pleasant, friendly and efficient. Thank you, Stephanie! I found everyone on the staff to be very nice, respectful and friendly. The location is in a business park. I felt very safe and secure in this hotel. It was a relaxing overnight stay. If you self-park, be aware that parking is not gated and the cost is $19 per day. The refrigerator in the room and Keurig are a must have for me. I also really liked that each floor had 1 or 2 small microwaves. I've not stayed at a Sonesta property in the past, but will return to this location the next time I am in the bay area.

This is really a great hotel. It’s clean, modern, beautiful. Friendly atmosphere. Rooms are spacious, quiet, beds and pillows are comfortable. The front desk staff are super nice! Especially Renee Rodriguez! Last week when I arrived and asked for check in, I found my booking was for a day before! And I’ve already paid online! But Renee helped me to communicate with Expedia and her manager, and solved my problem quickly. She even checked me in before she got that done so I could take a break before work. It was so nice of you Renee! This hotel has been so inviting and offers amazing hospitality. I’ve been there before and I’ll definitely be returning. Thank you again Renee!

I recently stayed at Sonesta Silicon Valley and had a very uncomfortable experience. Our room was extremely hot at night because the AC wasn’t working. It was 2 in the morning, and as two girls, we were too scared to go to the front office and pack all of our stuff to switch rooms. We could hear the AC turn on, but no cold air came out. We tried messing with it again in the morning, but it still didn't work. Staff was great I just wish I would’ve slept a little due to it being so hot I woke up throughout the night multiple times after finally falling asleep at 4 am. Maybe better luck next time.

Overall the hotel was clean and well kept. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The check-in was efficient. Parking was pricey and not secure, so I would normally expect it to be included at no cost. The room that I was given was on the first floor and was one of several rooms located next to the employee locker room. This resulted in a lot of loud noise from the room including many loud hallway conversations. This continued fairly late and started up early in the morning. Sounds from the pool also continued until around 11pm. Due the this experience, I would not stay again.

For our last 2 days of our trip to California we stayed at the Silicone Valley location. The first thing that we were not happy with was an $18 a night parking fee which seems completely unnecessary given the location of this hotel. The person at the desk at check in wasn't particularly friendly and told me I had to let her know if we wantes the room cleaned ahead of time. The room was just average, you couldn't put any channels on the TV they have this weird system where they tell you to connect your cell phone to it, very inconvenient and not for everyone. The toilet barely flushed you had to hold the handle, the shower had barely any water pressure and the room thermostat just wouldn't get the temperature right and even if you opted to keep the fan going it just wouldn't stay on. I don't believe I'll ever pick any Sonesta hotel ever again, I wouldn't recommend it.
