Sonesta Essential Minot - Hotel in Minot - 3420 S Broadway, USA

My unit stays at the Sonesta quite often for drill. And every time is a great experience, Sam and John take very good care of us, always super helpful and polite. Rooms are always clean, breakfast is always hot. This is my recommended place to stay in Minot. John and Sam go above and beyond the standard that they need to and we all greatly appreciate their hard work, extraordinary customer service, and willingness to help make sure our experience is always a great one!

We've stayed here twice over the last couple months. It's always a good price and get what you need. (I would hesitate to call it a 3 star as it might be just a little better overall than a 2 star) However: Staff is very friendly. The manager is incredible and attentive. A little over worked so may have to wait a bit here and there, like at the desk...They are in process of hiring up right now. Once the staff is a available check in is smooth. The building is clean. They have specific staff regularly cleaning the main premises during day. A few places do look like they need some repair. (Like all the room numbers were ripped off at one point) Our room was very clean. Not sure why others may have issues. The rooms have regular amenities that come with this level of hotel. Reasons for 3 rating: (The thing that bugs me about the less expensive and older hotels is the AC/heat units by window. This one rattled bad whenever it ran. [All of them at all hotels freeze the one unfortunate enough to sleep on that side of bed. Just a common annoying thing 🤷🏽‍♂️.] Rooms are incredibly dark. Way not enough lighting to see anything after sun goes down. (Hint: just bring brighter bulbs with you. All hotels are switching to less bright bulbs) The TV had a "lock" at volume 10. Couldn't go lower. Very annoying. Our restroom was clean and worked... just what you expect. Breakfast is pretty good for a less expensive hotel and includes hot food. (Had an issue with sour milk, however, and other things not very well attended. Also, when several of us were waiting for waffles well before closing the attendant didn't refill the machine (he knew) he then rushed to take things away as we were finishing. On the other hand, if you don't want to spend twice as much this one will work fine.

stayed here this past weekend, was kind of nervous about all the cleanliness reviews about this place, sadly we should of listen. the room was beyond dirty. Let start off with the door. clearly off its hinges as it would not shut unless you lifted it up while shutting and it was a fairy heavy door. the carpets in the room were very greasy and honestly sticky it lots of places, unknown white stains all over the bathroom walls multiple walls. the end tables have a coat of dust on them that needed to be wiped up. found someone else's black shirt underneath the bench, a short hair underneath the seek lip you can figure out what kind of hair that would be on your own. stains on the bed sheets. overall for the price they are charging for the room compared to the cleanliness is absolutely absorbed. visible wear in the hotel rooms, 1 out of the two elevator was not working. made managmanet aware and we are now on day 4 of no response so make you wonder if they even care about there customers. will not be coming back

We stayed here two times over the past week due to medical procedures. We found the service and rooms were very nice, the amenities are great with a good hot breakfast. Also the young man at the check in desk, Raymond Houle, was very cordial and helpful. I observed him under pressure as several people were checking in and he was also taking calls. In one case I could hear a customer on the phone who got very rude but I was impressed with his respectful and professional response under pressure. Thanks for the great service!

Flew into Bismarck from AZ. Drove two hours to get here. We were checked into a room on the 4th floor. When we entered there were hairs looked to be pubic hairs still in the shower tub. We got removed to another room. This room had rust all over the shower curtain rod that would leave rust residue all over the towels. There were a pair of socks from the previous guests sitting in the corner behind the chair. There were vitamins on the floor from the previous guests on the floor near the nightstand. The indoor hot tub and pool was filthy. The hot tub wasn’t even remotely full of water and it had black streaks all over it. Pool had the same black streaks. They should probably find some new housekeepers or new housekeeping managers. The hot tub was the only reason we booked this place and we couldn’t use it. Highly disappointed.

We were initially very thrown off by how casually the staff dress; but they were all very lovely and helpful. Its a different atmosphere in this hotel with how laid back everyone is. The breakfast was very nice with more options than we would have expected. The pool was not in terrible condition and the rooms were very clean. Any issues we had were resolved very quickly. We also liked that there is a Walmart Supercenter two minutes away and the zoo, mall and several restaurant options were all within ten minutes to get to. We were very happy with our stay. The beds are very firm, too firm for our preference but I'm not knocking a star off for not being able to accommodate different spine preferences.

Upon entering the hotel, there was no one at the customer service desk. We waited for ten minutes, and no one showed up. I had to phoned the hotel to request someone to assist us with our check in. Evan was his name to be specific, had answered the phone and I had let him know that we were at the customer service counter waiting to be helped. He hung up the phone and did not say anything. We proceeded to wait for another ten minutes. Evan and Sam (THE MANAGER) was laughing, and Evan was extremely unprofessional. There was no apology to how long we waited. We proceeded to check in. Evan gave us keys to room 430. We went up to the 4th floor with all of our personal items. We then proceeded to go into room 430, however it was locked. This room was already taken by someone else. We then went back to the main floor to let Evan and this other woman know that this room was taken. Again, no apology for what just occurred. Instead they were laughing about it as they thought it was funny. We had mentioned that there was no hand sanitizer in the sanitizer machines. Again, Evan and this woman did not give a care in the world. Instead of an apology, we received ‘ there’s a restroom down the hall ‘. We then received new keys to a room in the first floor. The lamps don’t work in the room. There was garbage underneath the mattress. I will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE. THE STAFF IS UNPROFESSIONAL, EXTREMELY RUDE, INCOMPETENT AND I COULD GO ON. This is quite disgusting to treat other human beings like this and treat your job like this. You should probably hire new staff as these two are as dumb and extremely unprofessional as they come. Horrible customer service. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!
