Sonesta Emeryville - San Francisco Bay Bridge - Hotel in Emeryville - 5555 Shellmound St, USA

Good price, good location. Excellent desk staff, who upgraded our room and enabled us to check in early after a trying day of travel. VERY disappointed with the ‘restaurant/bar.’ First day, asked for veggie sausage with breakfast, and got a plate with bacon. Staff offered to just switch out the bacon and I had to insist on a remade plate. Second day, I had to repeat my order 3 times before the server could repeat it back to me correctly, and partner asked for a hot chocolate and was given a mocha instead (does NOT tolerate coffee!) Without other easy walking distance options for breakfast, the hotel would do better to have decent breakfast service!

I would give no stars. The sanity is poor, the hot tub water is yellow, filthy, the show shampoo and soap bottle are empty, no bottled drinking water, no tea bags, bag coffee is so poor quality. Also the heater doesn't seem to work, had a cold night sleep. Worst is that after one night stay, I got bites all over my arms, neck and legs. Looks to be bed bugs bite! I've always stayed at Marriot hotels, which are much cleaner and better quality and service for the same price. Do not stay there it is not clean, and customer service is so poor. I contacted the hotel and complained about it but they did nothing.

Positive: The location was awesome! At first I was concerned abut how expensive it would be since it overlooks downtown San Francisco and you get the water view side. The desk lady  was very helpful and put me just there. in water view!! great experience Negative: Not exactly about the hotel, I didn't like to be hit with an extra "maintenance fee" that added to the cost of what I thought it would be a great price!! but is just a thing in all the surrounding hotels.

Overall a fine hotel - large, clean, comfy rooms. The only negative was the shower really didn’t have hot water. It quickly went from hot to warm to cold. Not even enough for one person to get a decent temperature shower so I can’t imagine what it would be for two people. Not much immediately around the hotel but worked for the wedding I went to which wasn’t too far away.

This place has very nice suites that have a great bay view. Close to Mall where there is a lot of excellent food choices. 2 minutes from freeway. Only downfall was Wi-Fi was spotty.

Disappointed. I stayed here for 5 days 4 nights and housekeeping did not come to my room one time. I requested TWICE that they come up just to take out the trash that was piling up and give me an extra towel and they never came. They’re are outlets that don’t work. The view was nice but my windows were so filthy I could barely see it. Also why is everything so expensive? $6 for water??? My business partner also stayed here and had trouble with his TV. He also requested TWICE that someone come look at it and surprise! they never came. The only reason I’m not giving it 0 stars is because there were no bugs. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I stayed here before.. It was a good experience then as well as my last visit.. The staff was attentive, and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.. Very nice hotel.

This is an OK hotel. However my experience with Vanessa at the front desk really took what could have been an entire trip killer and made it worth while. I had a problem with another hotel who double booked lots and lots of event attendees as well as other regular patrons. Who was there for me? Sonesta and Vanessa at the front desk. Understanding, kind, and willing to help even if it isn't the greatest hotel in the world, it is staffed by some of the nicest.
