Sonder The Queen - Featured Reviews (306)
Our stay at Sonder was more than expected. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful. Exactly as pictured. 8⁸We loved having a mini fridge and access to extra amenities in the basement. We also loved that they offered luggage storage before and after our stay because our flight was later in the day. Having a restaurant attached was very convenient and the location was ideal. We were not too far from anywhere we wanted to go. We felt super secured because you need a code to get into and around the hotel. Will 100% stay here again and at any other Sonder in cities we travel to.
Great location, close to lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Nice clean and comfortable room. No complaints. There is no concierge but check in on phone was easy and we had no problems getting into our room using a code. 5 stars
Everything was great! Loved the beds, blankets and the complimentary shampoos, soaps, lotions. The tea was delicious! Perfect location as well! Everything was very clean. I liked not having to check in at a front desk. I felt secure with the codes you need to get into the building, use elevators and get into the room.
We were curious & hopeful, but the “unmanned hotel” concept did not work for us. We arrived to Sonder at 10pm, only to be locked out for 2 hours. We booked through our travel agency/credit card points, so didn’t have a personal email setup directly with Sonder. This made us unable to verify a code they send as part of security measures to get in. It was very stressful, and if the neighborhood wasn’t so lovely we would have felt quite vulnerable/unnerved that late at night. It’s ironic the security measure to check in is so strenuous, considering the hotel is connected to a completely different business (restaurant) where guests can access the stairwell and lobby from the restaurant side. The keypad to the luggage storage room was just always open, and there were no instructions as to how the digital lockers in there worked- so we crossed our fingers our luggage would be safe there after we checked out before an evening flight (everything ended up fine). It would have been so much easier if there was a human there to work with.
This goes for amenities as well, with no staff there is no room tidying or replenishing of anything (cups, k-cups, towels, etc) so would’nt recommend staying more than a couple days. The walls are quite thin and let in sound from other rooms and outside/upstairs.
The concept is good, but the execution did not work for us. It did not feel like a hotel, more like an airbnb/hostel where you’re on your own. Other than this, every part about Philly was amazing and this neighborhood is beautiful!
Sonder the Queen is in a great location. One block from South Street and lots of coffee shops and restaurants all within walking distance surrounding the hotel. The room was nice, clean, small and bed was comfy. We did have an issue with the comforter being dirty. The answer on the app was quick, however, since this is an unmanned hotel, they sent the security guard up at 1130 pm with fresh sheets and a mattress cover. We compensated by putting the comforter between 2 sheets. Keypad entry is nice for security. We would stay here again if we have the need.
Everything thing in this rental was superb , from the location to the unit itself . Cleanliness and decor of room was outstanding. The bedding was the topper |I have been traveling for over 70 years and the mattress was the greatest. Thanks again for a wonderful stay , can't wait to do it again with Sonder |Looking forward to hooking up in other Sonder cities
My son and I had a great time in Philadelphia and Sonder was a big park of it. Room was spacious and clean. TV worked as expected and the bathroom was nice as well. I enjoyed the location very much. Close to a lot of things to see and walk to. 10 minute walk to Angelos for cheesecake, and 10 mins from independence plaza.
DO NOT BOOK WITH CREDIT CARD POINTS OR OTHER WEBSITE - we booked this 'hotel' with points from our credit card (through our credit card portal which we do all of our travel bookings through), and we were locked out of the hotel for 2.5 hours in the middle of the night due to Sonder's complex check-in method and requirements. It's closer to an air bnb, and looks very nice at first glance but the finishings are cheap and simple. Great location, but at the price I would prefer to find another hotel with a check in desk and easier process. The walls are thin and it's a noisy area, making it hard to relax and rest. Good concept, just in reality doesn't really work well.
A unique hotel with history and a very nice decor to enhance any stay while traveling. We stayed there for a couple days during the New Year's Holiday and had a wonderful experience. Great location in the middle of the city, safe and close to everyth
We booked the deacon for a weekend and as our wedding venue last month and we could not have been happier with our choice.
The building is gorgeous with so many beautiful details, the stained glass windows all of it is stunning. The rooms are spacio
Joined on a student membership for the summer and really enjoyed my experience. All the trainers were highly knowledgeable (and incredibly athletic) and made sure everyone felt welcome in the gym. When I was dealing with a shoulder injury, they were
Coffee here was amazing! The iced latte was great! The black coffee was something else! So fruity and aromatic - truly a great experience! Very much recommended getting their beans too!
A must stop if you are in Philly!!! Kevin's creations are incredibly delicious. Put down the cheese steak and go grab some tasty vegan, gf and dairy free options. Dessert=a meal. Back-to-back visits made us super fans!!! Pls open up a place in J-
