I've never had an arepa before, so I was excited to stumble upon this place. The space is open and inviting, and the employee who prepared our food was equally as friendly. I really enjoyed my arepa with pork carnitas, onions, and some other toppings. I only had one, but in the future I'd definitely order a second.

If you're looking for a delicious meal, look no further. This family-owned restaurant serves up the best arepas in the area, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The arepas are the star of the show, but there are also plenty of other delicious dishes to choose from, such as cachapas, empanadas, and tequenos. We had two different Arepas and the taquenos. The service at Somos is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. There is a counter where we selected the toppings and sauces for our meals. The staff were fantastic at recommending what paired well with our selections. Overall, I would highly recommend Somos Handcrafted Arepas to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Venezuelan meal.

This was my first experience trying arepas and they were amazing! I don't live in Connecticut, but I want to go back again just to eat these. The employees were fun and the atmosphere was relaxed. I highly recommend.

Today was my second time coming to this place and I was very disappointed. I came back because my arepas the first time we're very tasty however today the arepa itself was very hard the pork carnitas were so dry and was like they have been cooked and sitting for days there was no meat left no juice nothing just dried pork almost like jerky pulled jerky. Overall left my stomach hurting and me still hungry cuz I couldn't even finish what I bought. Customer service was great both times I had been there and the place was clean. Just very disappointed about the food I'm not sure if I'll go back.

Highly recommend creating your own! But must start with the Cachapa!!! Sweet corn arepas are just as good if not better than the Yale colombian arepas cart by the Peabody. An now you can get them at any point of time!!! Any whoo! Cachapa and Carne Mechada is my go too! Get w.e. toppings you'd like an ask for the Garlic Aioli an the Guasaca as sauces. It goes great with the carne mechada! Enjoy. I got the pulled chicken cachapa take out and it was delicious. It was so good, I had to place another order immediately for my brother and husband who decided that they needed to try this place as well. Great food, and most of the food is gluten free, which is so hard to find.

Had the pulled chicken cachapa and it was every bit as delicious as I’d hoped. All the ingredients were fresh and filling. I’ll definitely be back.

It’s like going to Quiznos. Better quality than Subway, but still very fast-foody. Replace your sugar-packed sandwich sub with a naturally gluten free corn arepa, very tasty. Yummy toppings and options for sauces. Fast and feel good lunch
