SolarTecture - Solar - Featured Reviews (11)
We were extremely happy with the SolarTecture installation of a large solar project (24 solar panels, a complex 200A electrical panel upgrade and a backup battery) at our home in Monterey. George Porter, co-owner, was very knowledgeable and hands-on for the whole project. He listened to our goals, looked at our specific situation, and provided a plan to meet our needs. He and his crew were always respectful and hardworking. His crew also did the electrical for the conversation to electrical water heaters and furnace. The city inspectors were always very impressed with his work. We feel more comfortable, too, knowing we have a local contractor who knows our system in case we need some help. We strongly recommend SolarTecture for your solar needs.
The owner, George, is as professional as they come and dedicated to installing your solar correctly and safely. The Solar Crew are some of the best gentlemen I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Would absolutely recommend having your solar installed by SolarTecture.
I had multiple bids, but George's was the only one that showed careful analysis and consideration of location and site. It is working as he said it wood. It took longer to complete than I would have liked (a lot of people applied to get work done under the old PG&E rate structure), which was expected, but it did take a long time. The quality is excellent, and the system makes sense and is easy to use.
George and his team this summer installed solar panels on our home, with two Generac PowerCell batteries. They rewired the system, which had its challenged due to two electrical boxes, etc., and it's been working beautifully. This was not a super simple job, and they got it all done. They're also professional and enjoyable to work with, and the office very responsive. George also worked with the man installing our heat pump so that it was integrated with the newly-rewired electrical system.
Note: During longer days, we use the battery in "Self Supply", meaning that as soon as the solar panels stop generating power in the evening, it switches to the battery until it's drained to 30% - and then it goes to the grid. Our PG&E bills plummeted. However, in the winter we change the setting to preserve more battery power in case of an outage. You'll need a short tutorial on this, but it's not complicated at all. And I call Generac Customer support, whose number is on the Generac app, and they quickly handle it for me. Generac customer support is fantastic. (Much, much easier than getting through to Tesla support for their solar battery, which we had in our previous home.)
Mark and his team at SolarTecture did a fantastic job replacing our old leaky wooden solarium. We still marvel at how they were able to diligently fit the new updated and much sturdier solarium components to existing walls and the roof of the house. Unlike before, the new solarium has truly become a comfortable extension of our house. The temperature is now well regulated, and there is no more wind blowing through. All our neighbors commented upon how professional and respectful they were. Mark and his team even returned to make sure that everything was watertight. Now, we can enjoy meals while appreciating our natural surroundings, and the solarium is perfect for family gatherings, especially with the new lights that were expertly replaced. The new solarium is better than we imagined it would be, for which we thank Mark and his crew. We give the highest recommendations for SolarTecture!
Repower Monterey did an excellent job on my house in Salinas. I've been putting off getting Solar because I just got a new roof -- but my energy bill has just been through the roof (pun intended) so I needed to do something. I Googled the number and spoke to the front office lady, who was just delightful, and I quickly got in contact with George. I had no idea what, how much, or how little I needed for my house and energy usage. George was helpful, level headed, and direct. I'm thankful, because much like auto shops, these solar places can really try to upsell you. George gave me all the info I needed, and was able to make an educated decision on solar. George and his team did a stellar job. The panels look great, and I immediately saw the positive effect it had on my energy bill.
George Porter needs to be your go to for solar and electric work in the Monterey Bay! His work exceeded my expectations and I have seen a huge ROI since deciding to let him install solar onto my property in Carmel Valley. His professionalism was top notch as he clearly communicated to me the entire time we worked together. Due to the amazing experience I had doing Solar with him I decided I should contact him come about an unrelated electric issue I was having that no one else seemed to be able to help me with and once again he came through for me. I don’t typically go out of my way to write reviews but the experience was so great that I felt I had to come on here to write him this review. Thank you so much George Porter.
These folks designed and built a sunroom in the back of our home. The results were spectacular but I give them my five-star not only because of the finished product but because of the way the team worked with me and my family. Altogether 6 people were involved including professionals pouring cement etc. Everyone was top-of-the-line. I highly recommend them.

Wasn't sure what to expect, so I'm trying to give as detailed of a review as possible so that hopefully whoever sees it has a good idea of what they're paying for.
The rooms were smaller than expected. But if you're intending to be out the whole day
Great little B&B that is centrally located in Pacific Grove. Walking distance to cannery row, the aquarium and the monarch butterfly sanctuary.
The rooms were clean and everything worked well (for such an old house). We had no problems. There is a ni
A wonderful place to sit and reflect. The crashing waves are always intriguing. There is a path between several benches in the area. A great place to enjoy while on a coastal walk or bike ride.
First time experiencing Maxâs grill and the food was out of this world! Definitely going to be a repeat customer whenever we pass through Pacific Grove/Monterey. Absolutely amazing customer service, beautiful and cozy atmosphere. 10/10 would recomm
