Ordered crab rangoons and a sushi combo meal, rangoons were a little greasy but good. However the quality of the fish was awful. I could get better sushi made at the grocery store or gas station. It's texture was hard, stiff and chewy, it lacked any flavor other than gross and instantly made me feel sick. Will not be going back. I aye my order within 5 minutes of picking it up. But only made it through a few pieces, couldn't even finish it
Sogo Sushi, Hope Plaza,West Coxsackie N.Y. small bistro style with typical Japanese decor, this was once a dine in restaurant which changed to strictly take out due to pandemic regulations. Shrimp tempura was too heavy, batter should be light and crispy, miso soup was quite bland and spicy salmon roll was fresh but very bland. This restaurant has potential if a little effort implemented and spices added when preparing food, portions small .$$
My little sister wanted to have her first sushi, and I didnt feel like driving alllll the way to Albany for her first one, so I found this little bar. It was amazing. Best sushi I've had in a long time. I didnt know this little jem was so close to home. I wish we could have sat down but because of covid we had to take it home. (In picture: California roll, Philadelphia roll, and sweet potato roll)
The sushi is good but they have the most inconsistent schedule I've ever experienced in a restaurant. 9 out of 10 times I try to order they're closed despite it being in their hours/days they claim to be open. Would be my favorite place to eat in town if I could eat it more than once every 3 months
We have tried all of the chef's special rolls and though I have my favs all are delicious! The owners are always pleasant and automatically bring us our drinks. Highly recommend. Update: though there are a couple of delicious options for sushi nearby now (Sawa and Akira) I still appreciate this gem in Coxsackie. The special rolls are tighter, neater and easier to eat than other local places. Only down side is you cannot eat in.
Wonderful and delicious food, both cooked meals and the sushi. Always pleasant and friendly, fast and efficient. Great service and delicious food. We are blessed to have such a great sushi place locally finally after many years without.
Hidden gem. The lady at the front desk is very a polite and packs your order correctly with all utensils. They pay attention to all details in my order. The place is very clean and the ingredients are always quality and tasty. Definitely try fried California roll. I highly recommend.
I mean, it's not Sugarfish but it's totally fine sushi considering you are in Coxsackie. The fish is a little tough but not bad, would recommend the rolls over the nigiri. Noodle dishes are good too if a little salty. Very friendly staff. Note: they are takeout only rn due to the pandemic.
