Terry and JP were out marvellous hosts during our stay at Socorro Old Town B and B. Terry was a a whiz in the kitchen and offered a variety of delicious breakfasts and a welcoming afternoon snack. Her brownies were amazing. |The renovated old adobe building was well heated against the winter cold and our en-suite bedroom and bed were very comfortable. |Terry and JP were always available to give good advice about what was on in the local community and they had a wonderful library on New Mexico which was very useful for planning trips further afield. |The B and B was in walking distance to the historic local plaza. |We also very much enjoyed a self guided walking tour of Socorro and seeing the amazing birds including 1000s of cranes at the Bosque Del Apache Park
There are not many reasons to visit Socorro, but if you do, the Old Town B&B is THE place to stay. Terry takes great care of you. The old building was restored with loving care, there's lots of public space, the two bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the patio is ready for entertaining. Terry and JP make sure the chimera is ready to light. ||||Did I mention the fresh blueberry muffins, right from the oven? If you're in time squeeze, Terry accommodates you with breakfast burritos.
We spent 11 days in New Mexico and stayed in a wide range of accommodations. We stayed her mainly to be close to the historic district of Old Socorro and that it is! It is only a 60 second if that walk to the old section including the Plaza. I was sorry that we were not there on the weekend to see the Farmers market set up here on the plaza. The room was very nice and comfortable (Red room with New Mexico theme decoration) and slept very well. The attached bathroom was very pleasant, bright and cheerful with wonderful tiles even in around the sink. The surprise to me was the breakfast prepared by our host and owner Terry: we watched fresh homemade blueberry muffins prepared in front of us, had fresh fruit, scrambled eggs (served with an optional green Chile cheese sauce : great) and sausage, juice and great coffee. the tile work throughout the building and also in our room was very beautiful as was done by our host. Overall a very comfortable and pleasant stay and very reasonable in cost: I recommend to anyone.
We stayed in Socorro one night on our way home to Phoenix from Colorado. This B&B isn't much to look at from the street, but inside it was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. It was an easy walk to the Twisted Chile Brewing Company where we enjoyed a local beer before dinner. Terry fixed us a tasty, hearty breakfast, and her husband JP told us the history of the B&B along with stories about Socorro. We would definitely stay here again the next time we're in Socorro.
Terry went out of her way to make sure I had an authentic southwest breakfast each morning (and my days started before 7 sometimes). She was even flexible when I had to change my dates at the last minute! The food was outstanding, my hostess (Terry) was extremely cordial, and the whole house was clean and bursting at the seams with character. I can't wait for the conference next year so I can stay here again. This B&B was way, way better than anywhere else you could stay in at least a 100 mile radius.
Terry is a sweet hostess and took great care of us during our stay. Breakfast was awesome and delicious. Look past the front porch and enjoy the beautiful renovated rooms and beautiful tile floors (installed by Terry herself) in this early 1800s adobe home. We looks forward to coming and citing Socorro and seeing the birds again!
My husband and I stayed 3 nights during the Bosque del Apache Festival of the Cranes. Terry our hostess was willing to make us delicious breakfast burritos at 5 am and the room was very comfortable. Highly recommended if you need an early start to bird watch!
We spent one night at this B&B and would do so again, should we find ourselves in Socorro in the future. Two old houses from the early 1800s have been combined into a two-bedroom B&B with living room and big kitchen where we ate a very hearty breakfast with the owners. They are enthusiastic about things to do in the area. Don't let the age of the building put you off - once you step inside it's clear that the structures were gutted and re-done in southwestern style, with lovely tiles in the en-suite bathrooms. This would be a great place for birders visiting the Bosque del Apache, for people visiting the Very Large Array, and anyone else who enjoys history, hiking, and more. And Socorro is about 80 miles from Pie Town, NM, a must-stop for anyone traveling U.S. 60 west.
Nice staff and the environment is a breath of fresh air!! There is live music and on Saturdays they even allow the public to participate in open mic. Try this place out, though it's in an older building , it has a whole new feel! It's fun and invi
I graduated from New Mexico tech in 2009 and since they have built approximately 15 new buildings that are just beautiful! The campus has beautifully kept flowers and trees along with a great golf course! The education one will receive from attending
This was the gem we were looking for. Authentic Mexican food in a perfect atmosphere. Must admit that the area was a little scary, but my God, the service and food was to die for. I couldn't eat it all. It's flavorful but not hot spicy. My wife and I
Amazing, massive selection, can do just about anything you need them for and can help you with any question you have. Can even do custom things as well. Very professional staff and the people at the help desk would make my give 6/5 stars if I could!
Beautiful scenery here at the NMT campus with a nearby golf course, playground, and duck pond with adorable wildlife and lots of fun events at the center. It is quite modern with artwork on display throughout the halls that switches each month and ve
Always nice for an overnighter. 50, 30 amp, water and sewer to all sites. Very level gravel. Sites are a bit narrow but with nobody there, it was no problem. The trees are nice, give a bit of shade. No grass which is a bummer. To get inside the park
This is a small RV park with full hookups, but it is clean. The owner was very gracious in allowing us to park early. It is near the Highway but feels safe.
