Shady respite from the bustle of Connecticut Ave, bountiful birdsong, a few more cicadas in recent days, and friendly neighbors. Several creek crossings - choose your footwear well and bring a camera!
Great to have this lovely park in our backyard but the constant flow of trash from the sewer is pretty off putting. The trails are well maintained, fallen trees promptly moved off trail and the stream crossings add some excitement to an otherwise short 0.75 mile stretch down to rock creek. I typically walk through with a small bag to pick up trash but after each rainstorm a fresh batch comes down.
So much fun and beauty; had a blast jumping between stones and logs.
I was initially disappointed. I entered the trail to reach the park from close to Connecticut Avenue and it's a short walk on a road flanked on one side by mansions and there's a steep drop with apartment buildings on the other side. Pretty boring initially but then you get to a more scenic and more natural trail about a half a mile in. It was a very pleasant surprise and probably one of my favorite places in DC. I only wish I brought hiking boots instead of my runners, I definitely didn't expect an unpaved trail like this in DC... I can't wait to go back and explore more.
Beautiful park and we didn't even get that far in. Maybe it was the magic of finding this place after a failed attempt at visiting the zoo, but we didn't run into ANY mosquitoes or snakes. My kids had a great time along the edge of the stream and we found some painted rocks too. Definitely recommend this place if you also forget to reserve parking at the zoo.
Very nice unpaved dirt path along along the creek and leading directly into the main Rock Creek park (although the trail ends at road that can be tricky to cross when there is traffic because there is no sidewalk/shoulder for about 150 feet and some people drive rather fast through the park). Lots of smaller deer trails. Most stream crossings are over stepping stones (no bridges, even on the main trail). Some parts take 3-4 days to dry up after a big rain.
Park is temporarily closed
To be fair, I didn't get far into the trail from the entrance off of 29th Street NW. With two kids and a dog, we got as far as the creek and simply played around in the water. Its a great way to spend a morning with little interaction from others.
It is a nice garden to walk around or rest on a grass. You can see the Washington Monument from here. Also, it is right next to the Lincoln Memorial. There is a pond that living creatures live.
I like the view of Washington Monument pictures from th
One of the best places to spot the beautiful and iconic cherry blossoms which draw the whole world to DC. Here are some pics that were taken during sunset that give the pink beautiful flowers, a golden glow. Must visit during the peak bloom time!
We went there for a brisk evening walk, never expecting the Sun to be very intense. But so it was. Apart from that, this place is very beautiful. There are some restaurants adjacent to the waterfront where people can dine outside. The park is clean a
Awesome little neighborhood park. Literally a hidden gem, tucked away between houses. The neighborhood association and City do a great job of keeping it up. It is a bit small and crowds quickly.

This is a little-known treasure in SW Washington, DC. It was a gift from the women and children of the Titanic to the men, most of whom died, who chose to stay aboard the sinking ship to make room in the life boats for women to children. This inspiri
Had a great time touring the Capitol. We had to reserve a time to go on but totally worth it. The tour guide was informative and funny. They use these head phone sets which enable you to hear the guide no matter how far back from them you are. It is
Great park away from the busy part of town. Free parking. Great for cycling and running. Kids play structure on the south side. Really enjoyed spending time here during our visit to DC.
This is one of the nicest small trails in this region of the Rock Creek Park area. The trail crosses a little creek several times. The forest is pleasant and green, and the walk is fairly easy. The trail ends near the Peirce Mill site in Rock Creek.
Went sledding here with some friends, inspired by my memories of sledding there during Snowpocalypse when I was at AU. It lived up to my rosy mems and did not disappoint! I would be a little cautious because you gain serious speed, and my friend actu
While I haven't trained at many BJJ schools, my experience at Estilo for the past year and a half has set a high bar in terms of my expectations for how a school should operate. The level of instruction, the variety of activities (expert seminars, in
I love coming to barre at the DuPont studio and canât recommend it highly enough. The classes are challenging (there are multiple formats) but inclusive of people of all ages and fitness levels. When I first started barre, I didnât anticipate big

I normally don't give a five star review, but I had a lot of fun here. It is on the second floor and there is no sign. We arrived at 4:30 pm on a Friday and people were already waiting. By opening time at 5pm, there were enough people to fill the pla

My daughter - at this point - has only taken two classes but I already know we have lucked out by having such a great environment and team of people to coach her.

Been here a couple times now. Itâs very quaint but the staff is incredibly friendly and the coffee/food is excellent. A tight fit. Lots of people studying/ working on laptops. A nice patio. Music is nice and quiet in the background so if you donâ

What an incredible studio. My wife and I are only in town for the week but so glad we trained here. The instructors are amazing and they have a wonderful gym culture where my we both felt very welcome. Highly recommended.
Never seen a bad review of this place and rightfully so! The food is so delicious and you feel completely at home. A quirky and very comfortable neighborhood spot that is super affordable and fantastic for brunch.
