We visited this restaurant today. My husband ordered the sashimi bibimbap. I ordered the octopus hot stone pot bibimbap. The sashimi salad was big and fresh. My dish also had a big portion with lots of veggies and octopus with just a bit of rice, which I liked. My only complaint was that some of the octopus was a bit rubbery. I had to chew the big pieces like chewing gum. Other than that the flavor was good. The banchan/side dishes were tasty, especiallythe fish jeon/breaded fish. Service was great.
First time in a Korean bbq restaurant. It was so nice. I don't regret it. The food is fresh, and around 70% of what we got was fresh veggies. I really enjoyed my time there. Thank you to the team and the management.
Being strongly NY biased for Korean food, it's not surprising that we've never been here given this restaurant’s name which roughly translates to “Famous House”. There are many Korean eateries around here so the competition just makes everyone better. They offer free valet parking in the back (perfect since it was raining). When you come in, it’s a bright, standard Korean restaurant with a short bar near the front entrance. For a place that offers charcoal grilled kbbq, it did not have the usual strong smell of smoke. Probably due to a network of powerful exhaust fan over each table’s grill. We got there right at the tail of a surge so we waited a few minutes for a table but within 30 minutes, there was no waiting. Despite the temptation to go for the increasingly rare charcoal grilled kbbq, we only ordered prepared dishes. First, the agui jjim (spicy steamed monkfish with bean sprouts), an order of the jaeyook bokkum (spicy pork with vegetables), and an order of the ojingo dolsotbibimbap (spicy squid bibimbap in hot stone bowl). A lot of food for 2 but the agui jjim is usually huge and we expect to take home most of it. Everything was pretty delicious. The agui jjim was cooked perfectly with the usual mound of sprouts and chunks of meat. The spicy pork was just mildly spicy with tender juicy pieces of pork. The squid bibimbap was impressive, arriving in a hot bowl causing a pleasing sizzling sound. It was over filled with rice and the mix of squid and vegetables. Surprisingly, this was the spiciest of the three by far. One thing to note is that everything was very sweet. The banchan included kimchi, marinated bean sprout, pickled radish slices, spicy fish cake, julienned spicy radish, and marinated water parsley. All really delicious. Service was efficient as typical in Korean restaurants and everyone seemed very happy. So bottom line - really tasty food with good sized portions but slightly sweet. Good service. Free valet parking in the back.
Had the best meal here. We did the bbq and the meat was outstanding. The marbling on the beef was excellent speaking to its quality. Very attentive staff and great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Came here for dinner with my family and everything was fairly average. We ordered one of combo specials with meat (갈비), fish and bean sprout stew (아구탕) and tofu with kimchi (두부김치). The ribs tasted fine but the stew tasted pre-cooked and the seafood was obviously frozen (not fresh). Very disappointing as our past experiences from ordering items off the menu (vs getting a combo special) were excellent.
Service was fair. They rarely checked in though that is to be expected at a busy Korean restaurant on a Saturday night.
All in all, I would recommend this spot if you are ordering beef or other items off the menu but I would avoid ordering combo specials, as they lack quality and care from the cooking staff.
We arrived around 10PM. I was eating out with my father in New Jersey for the first time in a while, and we tried to order the sashimi rice bowl, but the server told us they have time frame and time was up for that menu. So I asked, "What's good here?", the female employee with thick makeup snorted and went to another table without replying, which made me feel very uncomfortable and 😠 angry. Until a few years ago, this restaurant was famous for being kind, but I was surprised that the food style and service changed so much. My father ordered spicy beef soup and I ordered the bulgogi stone pot, but it was very salty, so I asked for red pepper paste separately. It was really hard to eat and I ended up leaving half of it. We left here around 10:45pm. To be honest, I didn't want to tip at all (*thanks to that horrible server with attitude), but I thought that the Amigos were very kind to us, so we gave them a good tip. But I don't think I'll ever come here ever again. After listening to my friends in New Jersey, they say they haven't been to that restaurant in years. Everyone please AVOID this restaurant if you don't want any bad experiences. To restaurant: Please make sure you train your employees with attitudes!!!!!
Been going to this place for the last 13 years. Excellent Korean BBQ, delicious sushi, traditional hot pots and my wife's favorite mixed raw fish salad. Not a big selection of alcohol but decent offerings of beer, soju and sake. Service seems a bit rushed sometimes but we always enjoy our meals here. Clientele is diverse, great for families and groups.
The galbi is among the best texture and quality I’ve had, great marinade as well. It stacks up well to Cote’s grand cru at half the price. Everything else was great too

Really good black bean Kong-guksu. Made to order, huge portion, and strong soybean flavor accentuated by nutty sesame. I also think the kimchi was really great--definitely on the saltier side, but that complimented the more mild-tasting dish I ordere

The flavors were very authentic like the one in Korea. The curry sauce was so good so I would recommend picking up one and trying it. If you have a decent size group, I would recommend getting a huge Tteokbokki bowl and share. There is 4 levels of sp
