Snack Shack - American restaurant in Mt Vernon - 405 Richmond St, USA

We have ordered several times it’s really according to what you get I guess but we ordered some large ice creams $15 and the cups were not half full order was suppose to be ready in 5-10 mins waited 15 on top of the 10 mins to get the half full cups 🤷🏼‍♀️

Been going here for the last 3 years now and the food is always great as well as the service and there milkshakes r out of this world I highly recommend that u try it and don't forget my favorite shake the banana milkshake

Love this place! Great food, Always get the slaw dog and the CHUCKWAGON!!! Worth the wait!! They just need more help, but no matter what the food is always right and it’s delicious 🤤

I was in town last Saturday, for a fundraiser, and needed something to eat for lunch. As I drove around town, I passed this place and seen it was busy and I thought this must be, 'the' local hotspot, so I turned around and pulled in. It's a walk-up and order deal. Order at one window and pick-up at the other. The menu has a lot to offer, with different kinds of foods. Various boxed meals, specials, sides, drinks, ice cream etc. I wasn't sure what to try so I ended up ordering two cheeseburgers, two onion rings and a small salad to go. There are a few tables outside to eat at and it looked like maybe inside dining as well. It was closed, maybe due to the Covid restrictions? It was a long wait due to how busy it was, the two gals that helped me were friendly, which I liked. When my order was ready, I took the food back to where we were and I was disappointed about my salad. It was lettuce and tomato, the lettuce being only the parts you usually toss. It had a small container of ranch dressing, barely enough, not even half full. I didn't eat it and if I were there, I would have asked for my money back. It was over $2 for it and I'm so.glad I didn't order the large after seeing the small. The cheeseburgers were smaller then expected, (smaller than the ones at the Arches), they had lettuce, tomato and onion, no sauce. The meat at best, maybe about a tablespoon of it. They put one small container of each of mustard and ketchup in the bag. If I had known they didn't put any on, I'd requested more of them. The onion rings were just a small bag of the ones you would buy that are frozen. I was expecting them to be homemade due to the price. They had no flavor. I thought for sure the quality of the food was going to be great, since it was such a busy place. Overall, it was better than the typical chain restaurants. I don't know if all the burgers are like the ones we got. If I happen to be in the area again and need something to eat, I will try it again and order something else to see if it was just an 'off' day. (The small salad I received)

The reason atmosphere is rated one star is because this is a get it and go place.

You won't find a better place. No it's not fast food. yes you have to wait for it but it is WELL worth the wait.

The food is usually awesome and reasonably priced for what you get. Love the handmade burgers and tenderloin sandwiches. There's some sketchy workers and homeless people at times, but it is Mt Vernon. We still eat there every week or so, it's one of our favorite places.

Absolutely loved the slaw dog. It was incredible. The best slaw I have had in years. Oh and the onion rings were fabulous
