Snack Bar at the Gorge - Restaurant in White River Junction - , USA

This is a walk up snack bar. You order and they have outside tables under a roof covering. They are often busy but the lines are not bad. We often go for the ice cream. We split a sundae and are usually very full. Their fries and shrimp are good. The pulled pork just okay. If you are not a Vermonter you must have a maple creamee. Otherwise you missed Vermont.

This is the most delicious ice cream I have ever had! So creamy, its almost marshmallowy! And you’re surrounded by nature and a gorge and beautiful scenic routes- cant think of a better idea than a hike followed by some of the best ice cream on earth… which can be acquired here 💜🙏🏽

A little pricey but honestly it was really delicious. I got a chocolate milkshake, partner got a root beer float, and we shared an order of a widow maker, with is French fries topped with delicious bbq pulled pork and cheese sauce. The portion size was huge for that. We were both full and didn’t even finish the full container. It was a perfect lunch for after hiking the trails near by the gorge and taking in the scenery. They had a nice area with picnic tables to sit either in the shade or under the sun to enjoy our meals.

Huge portions and fast service, we were spending the day in the area hiking and sightseeing and decided to try the fried seafood. The combos are very large and one is more than enough for two people. The scallops and shrimp were very good, the fries were not good.

Super good food at a super good price! Was surprised at how rich the burger tasted, and the fries were large and well made. Everyone was super friendly here. Will definitely be coming back soon!

We discovered the Snack Bar when searching for a place to eat a late lunch after riding the Northern Rail Trail. The chicken tenders were the best we've ever had! Gigantic portions served piping hot with more fries than we could eat! Kudos to the staff comprised of 2 women, who patiently served throngs of leaf peepers from all over the country!

Born Vermonter... stopped here while driving by with the wife and kid to see the gorge and grab a bite. This is a typical tourist trap. Food is meh at best, service is slow and leaves a lot to be desired, and the "maple" creemee is a truly shameful excuse. There was no maple in it; just an expensive vanilla creemee. Good way to rob flatlanders and the tour busses full of international tourists. Please don't rate Vermont's iconic and highly coveted Maple Creemee based on the stuff they hand you here for twice the normal price of other shops. Ironically, their fried dough with maple cream was so deeply buried in thick maple cream that it was inedible without scraping half of it off. Think a normal fired dough with a full cup - cup and a half maybe - of thick, gritty maple cream.

The gorge is incredible, and so is the Snack Bar, but it's the shopping that will grab your attention. I've never seen such a selection of Minnetonka shoes in my life. Men, women, and children can all find great footwear. My wife and I love Minnetonka shoes. So comfortable.
