Smokey Shack BBQ - Barbecue restaurant in Española - 209 Los Alamos Hwy, USA

This place was absolutely amazing! Stopped here the other day after work, figured I'd give it a try. The meat was tender, had a decent amount of fat, and the flavor was perfect. You can taste the layers of flavor in the bark. The bbq sauce perfectly complimented the meat without being overpowering (like A1 or other sauces do). The potato salad was great; it wasn't sweet or too mushy. The price is reasonable for what you get, and the service was awesome. Everything was so good, I decided to eat in my car instead of taking it home! I couldn't recommend this place enough. Please give it a try!

This place has some legit BBQ. The brisket is my favorite and you will not be disappointed. It’s smoked with what appears to be oak hardwood. The owner is a nice guy and he runs a nice clean operation. I highly recommend it.

I'm going to start by saying the BBQ is delicious. Their brisket is some of the best I've ever had. However, I'm rather frustrated by the fact that I got less than the half pound I paid for. When I went to plate it up, I noticed that it looked like less meat then the other 3 times I've gone. When I put it on our kitchen scale, sure enough it was 7.58 ounces. The person slicing the meat tonight was one I haven't seen before, so maybe the other employee puts another slice to ensure that it's over the 8oz? But I have to say I would much prefer that to being under what I paid for...

This is some authentic Texas barbecue! I love seeing all the equipment and wood outside. The owner is super friendly. Super excited that it’s open since there’s not a lot of options for this quality bbq. Brisket sandwich was delicious, melt in your mouth, smoky and sweet. Recommend the spicy sauce.

This is the very best BBQ I've ever had. My Texas friend has wanted to get me to take a Texas road trip simply to enjoy the BBQ. No need for that trip anymore. We have the best right here in Espanola. Highly recommend. And don't leave without trying the peach cobbler. These guys are doing everything right.

Just tried the pulled pork sandwich and side of coleslaw it was DELICIOUS! and the side of peach cobbler wow amazing . The service was excellent,food excellent. I will recommend this place to everyone.thank you

We bought the Three meat plate that came with three sides. The meat on the ribs fell right off the bone. The green chile sausage was delicious and the Brisket was succulent. Everything drizzled in their house made BBQ sauce made the taste buds more than satisfied (definitely getting double sauce next time). A great portion of meat and delectable sides for a reasonable price! Very excited to have a GREAT barbecue place close to home instead of having to drive to Santa Fe. Can’t wait to try the whole menu!

Smokey Shack is one of the best places to eat in Northern New Mexico. The food is insanely good, the service is amazing. The people who run the places are so genuinely nice and caring and I don’t think there are many places I can say that about. Just because of them I would support this place regardless of the food. That being said, the bbq is always on point and the care they take with the food is undeniable! Juicy, smoky, cooked perfectly. The sides are seasoned just right, every time! I must say, the Texas Tater is literally one of the best dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t say enough good things about this place.
