Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q - Barbecue restaurant in Nashville - 1169 Eastern Ave, USA

A great place for eastern barbecue ( vinegar based)! They also have fried chicken and shrimp. I always try to stop the on the way to the coast and as often as not I pick up a pound or so for later. The staff is always friendly. It's a great place to stop with family to have a relaxing meal, it's very kid friendly.

Highly upset at the customer service I received from General Manager in Nashville NC store #77. My son purchase a pint of slaw yesterday from the drive thru and when I opened up the container, the slaw was old, brown and slimy like. I call and spoke with the GM Johnny and he informed me that in order for him to exchange it, he needs the receipt. I explained to him, I didn't have it and it's unacceptable what they are serving to customers. I would NEVER go back to this location again. I understand there are rules to situations, but Your establishment sold me this and I should either get a refund or an exchange, regardless if I no longer had the recept. I asked him if he could pull the transaction, if I gave him the information from yesterday and he said No. Overall, I feel like this could have been handled better and needs to be reviewed when situations like this happen. This is YOUR fault, not the customer.

Great place to eat in. Consistently good food and service from one location to another. Can't go wrong eating here.

Today, the food was better. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good. The hurshpuppies were overcooked. The tea is always good. It was extremely cold in there, but it's summer, so I'm sure the workers get hot.

We aren't from North Carolina and wanted to try something that would exemplify Carolina BBQ. The pulled pork was vinegary as you'd expect from Carolina BBQ. It was tender and not smokey. I give it a b for a grade. The shrimp were very shrimpy in size, lightly breaded and gently fried. They were still very tender and tasty with cocktail sauce. The hush puppies were the star of the meal. Shaped like little sausages, they were crisp and had good flavor. Service was very nice for a very crowded Sunday lunch time. The fried Chicken had the texture of KFC original fried Chicken, but didn't have overly strong flavors. If you like the strong flavors of Cajun style fried chicken joints like Bojangles or Popeyes, this won't fit the bill. But if you like crispy chicken that is wholesome and good in its own right, you might like this.

I went to smithfield today in Nashville and got the 16 piece dark meat and hushpuppies and three orders of fries and the chicken was not all dark meat and it was horrible and skin on it was hard the only thing was good was the fries and hushpuppies very very disappointed 😥

We had the BBQ sandwich with coleslaw value pack (fries & sweet tea)...soo good. The sweetness of the slaw combines perfectly with the savory flavor of this "down east" BBQ...and you get a bushel of fries. Would suggest a little less ice in the tea...but it was well made! Overall, well worth the price.

This is what they call a shrimp plate at Smithfield Chicken and BBQ. Ought to be ashamed serving those penny shrimp. $12.00 for this! Make popcorn shrimp look like jumbo. BBQ and sides were good. If you can't get better shrimp than that, take it off the menu!
