This place is extremely run down and low quality. The rooms are filthy and haven't been updated in decades. The sign for the motel from the highway says it all. The only reason why this isn't a one-star is because the staff and the family working the front desk are very nice and helpful. I just wish the quality of the rooms themselves matched their service.
Great budget motel. Rooms have TV, refrigerator. Some rooms have desk, chair, or microwave. Ask the clerk to see if the room has what you want. Sometimes you may not need a microwave. Watch out for little critters! Pizza delivery is not possible for this location, for reasons unknown to me. Cross the street and there is a shopping center. Three blocks away from Merced Transit Center and a 35 minute walk to the Merced Amtrak Station. May 2022, two separate occasions TV didn't work, I was already unpacked and turned on TV and audio didn't work; had to switch rooms. Second time, TV said no signal, the clerk had to come to the room and fiddle with it twice (TV said no signal); the solution was to never turn off the TV, only turned down the audio. Next time we (clerk and myself) will check the TV together. 9/10/2022 Same quality as usual. As a regular customer I get treated well and they always send me to the same room if not occupied. 12/13/2023 The motel is on the first floor in a big square U shape. There is a walkway to get to all the rooms and you can usually park in front of your room. But on one side they had a lot of flower/plant beds. Well on one side it was harder to get to and from your parked car. Well, on that side the management decided to cover up many of those flower/plant beds have been covered with concrete pads. It is so much easier and safer to go to and from your car.
After a long day exploring the magnificent Yosemite, I was exhausted by the time I got to Merced. I just wanted somewhere to sleep. I saw this motel with a sign saying something like "Cheap Rates".||The check in had me concerned with a big sign that "ID must be shown"... hmmm... and it wasn't! But the room was only $40 and I was tired.||Hey guess what? This place was fine. Not the Hilton and pretty old. But the room was clean. The bed was fine. No shampoo or soap but I had my own. It was a cheap place to stay. I didn't have a swim but the pool looked clean and I am sure you could cool off in it on a hot day.||As far as a recommendation goes - I do say yes but with the clarification that only if you want somewhere to sleep only. If you want any luxury you should perhaps look elsewhere.
Very cheap so don't expect too much. But rooms were fine and wifi worked much better than many much more expensive motels/hotels I have used in USA.||||Clientele could be described as colourful. A guest came to office as i was checking in. He had colourful tattoos and very colourful language. Under other circumstances (if I were younger, smaller or female for example).||||Perhaps not a place to linger but the beds were good, the price was cheap adn the wifi worked.
Bathroom had feces on the floor when we arrived, also towels and bed sheets were dirty (you can tell that they had washed them, but they were badly stained) very old grungy hotel located in a homeless and drug infested neighborhood. - the only decent thing was that the staff were nice people
Been travelling for more than 2 weeks through West Coast and this motel is the worst we have slept at.|To start off, the clerks (office) sits behind a armoured glass which gives a freaky & unsafe feeling.|The rooms are somehow outdated which is not a big deal BUT they are nasty and full of stuff everywhere. The restroom is dirty, there's dust everywhere.|This motel should be audited by any US hygienic department. It doesn't meet the elementary requirements.||After 2 hours being inside, I got bit by something. Hope to wake up tomorrow :/||And, the price was 60$ for one night BUT for that amount I have seen better :)
Nice and clean place. Park just in front of the room! The only thing to mention is that they serve you stuff to make coffee but no filter is there so you can't drink it!. The rest was great! Big room, clean and tidy.
After reading trip adviser reviews we approached this hotel with trepidation. What we experienced was good service, clean room with all the required facilities. Ask for a back motel to reduce train noise. A very god price for our party of 3.
