There are a lot of amazing views in Slide Mountain. If you're willing to pay the price, the mountain will yield spectacular views equal to the challenge of the ascent. Wear proper shoes, take your time, and enjoy the journey.
A great hike (do both Giant Ledge and Panther - don't skimp out). Quintessential Catskill hike but not particularly aggressive in any area. Multiple views and apparently a nice dusting of snow on 10/26/18. You're also in a 375 Million YO - 6 mile wide impact crater, that the mountain rests over, which adds to the experience.
A good bit of snow left still, but welll packed in most places, snowshoes still nice on the less travelled parts, but not essential... certainly melting soon and turning into a muddy mess!!
Great climb on Slide with Trailbound Project. A fair amount of rock scrambles; can be tough with packs on.
Beautiful summit, it will take you approximately 3 hour to get the summit.there is a camp side on summit.
Great hike, beautiful views on the way up, each trail has its own beauty, I suggest going back more than once and doing all the trails. Park ranger was very knowledgeable, can't wait to go back!
This is one one of the best hike/camp I'd had and it's free. My friends and I loved it and can't wait to do another trip.
The Burroughs Range is excellent! I used to live in the Adirondacks, and this is the closest you can get to that hiking experience. The mountains are challenging but very rewarding with big views and amazing high elevation Boreal forests.

I had the great pleasure of staying at Menla Retreat Center for four days. While there, I indulged in several of the treatments at the Dewa Spa. This is not your traditional resort spa. It is an amazing health and wellness center that takes spa treat
In a nutshell : we found "our place" in The Catskills. My boyfriend and I loved the owners Jennifer and Maureen (and George and June the doggy greeting committee) who were all very welcoming and accommodating. They always have something freshly baked
This was a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend it. We went on the sunset tour(6:30), and it was beautiful. We stopped by the river to turn around and it was very relaxing. They say the ride is easy, but I would make sure you have
Great collection of draft beers. We ordered a couple of flights and some chips; both of which were great. The ambience is great, everything is clean and hygienic. Great for a date, family or friends.
Only good things to say about this place! The staff is warm and welcoming. The pancakes were some of the best Iâve had. Theyâre pretty filling too. They offer a side of 3 pancakes for $8 instead of 5 pancakes for $15, Iâd recommend that. Breakf
My favorite place in Phoenicia and the entire Catskills! The food and service are fantastic. Whether a bacon and egg on a croissant for breakfast or a chicken avocado wrap for lunch, the food is delicious. And the baked items... you have to try the m
Stopped in after a snowboarding day at Plattekill Mountain. We enjoyed ourselves but felt rushed when we were having desert. Waiters and bartenders need to understand that we are paying their bills. Their job is to wait, not rush us out.. or we won't
EXCELLENT BREAKFAST! While vacationing in the Catskills for Memorial Day, we stopped at Sweet Sue's. The service was fantastic and the food was unique and delicious. The eatery had a small town feel and the food was artisan and unlike traditional din
Lovely campsite and the bathrooms were completely reasonable for being a campground , it was so nice to sleep to the sound of water . Felt like a very safe place to be. Location was prime being that Phoenicia is very central to some great hiking trai
