Please don't just look at the overall rating, and please actually check the reviews. I think when the hotel rebranded from being a Double Tree that they kept those old reviews. I made the mistake of trusting the overall 4.0 rating but not looking at recent reviews, and I had a really bad experience. It was possibly the most unclean hotel room I've ever stayed in. A lot about my stay felt unsanitary, unsafe, and just inconsiderate. I'll post the highlights below for those curious. I will add that the staff were polite during my stay, but that there are still tons of issues with how the hotel is taken care of. - The hotel room carpet was so dirty and sticky that I could feel my bare feet stick to the carpet. I wore socks my whole time there. But they turned black within 2 hours of me walking around the room. - My hotel room phone wasn't working. When I asked the front desk, I was told that the whole hotel's phones and TVs were down at the moment. They were not fixed by the time I left the hotel. - I have a disability parking permit, but I was unable to use it since the handicapped spaces were taken by cars that had been parked by the hotel valet (without handicapped permits). The spaces are meant to be for those who need them, not for valet parking. - Check in time is at 4pm but when I checked in at 5:30pm, the room I had reserved was still not ready. - My room was not cleaned or turned over during my stay even though I spent most of my time outside of the room. There are no "Do Not Disturb" or "Please Clean" signs so I couldn't put either out even if I wanted to. Plus, even though check out time is 11am, they came by to see if I had left to clean my room at 10am, an hour before I had to be out. - The room safe was not bolted down so I was able to pick it up and move it around. This fully defeats the purpose of having a safe if someone can take the entire thing. -The hotel room was outdated and the furniture was in bad shape. One of the dresser drawers was broken and didn't close, I had to shove the fridge closed to get it to stay closed, and there were dents and marks on pretty much everything. -The general cleanliness of the hotel room was just a consistent issue. There was a weird brown stain dripping from underneath a picture frame, dust clumps on lampshades, and dust and grime packed into gaps on furniture.

I had high hopes for a great experience here after a long day of traveling especially for this price point. Upon arrival we were placed in a 2nd floor room but not told the elevator was broken until we tried to carry our luggage in. The room was missing tissues, coffee cups and the complimentary water the in room sign said was available. The lamp shapes were crooked which was just odd. I will say the beds were very comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. The towels were so soft and the view was nice. I did let the front desk know upon check out and the very sweet concierge helped me, she apologized and gave us our waters to go. The lobby does not seem to match the dated rooms, but that being said they are doing renovations. Hopefully they get all the issues worked out and it will be a beautiful place!

I arrived early and figured I would see if I could get an early check-in. Initially, seeing an emergency boiler in the lot was not a good sign. The front desk informed me that check-in is at 4, and they can't get me in before that. I rolled my eyes and did something in town to entertain myself. I came back slightly after 4 to find firetrucks in the lot. After speaking with one of the staff, the situation wasn't going to be resolved immediately. So I went into town to grab a bite. Came back around 6 pm and my 3rd attempt to check in, got my room keys, and received complicated directions to the elevator. I started to head to the elevator when a funk filled the halls and ultimately faced an out of commission lift. Which I wasn't told when they gave me the directions. I canceled my stay and didn't even want to see the rooms. I came back for an event that was being hosted here and found out the fire dept was there for a gas leak in the building. Housekeeping was actively applying a new layer of fabreeze to the entryway. I witnessed a community living in the building, taking daily walks around the space. Colleagues reported bed bugs, poor shower drains, ants, vouchers to the neighborhood community center pool in lieu of their pool being closed, and no air conditioning. I observed many issues in the ballroom and halls where cleanliness isn't godliness here. The chandeliers were tangled, cobwebs full of bugs in easy to reach corners, outlet covers not set properly, and another funk in the halls. I am glad I switched my hotel. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. You should probably burn anything you let touch the floor of this place.

Really nice hotel and the most comfortable beds and pillows! Place is very clean. Location very easy to access. Just make sure the pool is open before you go, if you want to swim.

I stayed here on 06.26.24. When you 1st walk in it was beautiful but as soon as we walked to our room it was down hill. The rugs through out the hotel was so dirty. Especially in front of our room 461 and inside as well. One of the beds had a stain under the comforter. The lamp near the TV had a nasty stain, the bathroom door from the inside was dirty with stains and the bathtub was clogged. I understand that renovation are being done but that is not an excuse to maintain cleanliness in a hotel. It was a night out me and my partner wanted to have for each other and the room was absolutely terrible. A motel would have been a better option. Do better or be cheaper.

Nice hotel. Service is decent, and rooms are clean. Place is a little old though, it has an upstate feel. Not the slickest hotel yet close proximity to Spring Valley.

Stayed a night on a business conference. This probably was a nice place at some point. It just has not been maintained, and really I am not sure it is salvageable. Upon arrival, the computer system was down, so the front desk person made a little hand written note with all details including room and credit card numbers. The room itself...while it was not dirty per say and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep (thus 2 stars instead of 1,) there is so much wrong....wallpaper hanging, holes in the walls, tv remote with no cover and batteries continually falling out, that does not matter because the remote doesn't work anyway (or the tv does not work, one or the other,) thin walls, temperature control not good, sink slow to drain, tub slow to drain. Bees hovering around the front entrance in large numbers. Then my group gathers for the meeting, evening session, hotel bar is closed, and they refuse to open unless the group commits to a certain amount of expenses. How odd! I could keep going, but then the final straw, the bill they gave me did not match what was charged to my credit card. I called to get a new matching receipt (to submit for reimbursement purposes.) I was put on hold, people were nice enough, Never actually got the receipt. |The people tried to be nice enough, the grounds are big, and were probably nice at one time. The management here needs to make a decision to either fish or cut bait, but this middle ground of barely keeping it functional, just decent enough to do legitimate business, cant sustain. I think they should cut bait

We stayed here for a weekend with friends. The room was comfortable and the front desk was very accommodating to place us in a renovated room which was clean and had a patio door so we can sit outside. The public space and outdoors is airy and fresh. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area.

Beautiful scenery with nice quiet trails. Get fantastic views of the creek and cemetery. Ground can be slippery after a rain but the beautiful trees and atmosphere is worth it.
