We absolutely love it here! We have now stayed here twice when we are going for a weekend in Jim Thorpe! It is a great location and the nicest people! I highly recommend staying here, there’s so many different fun themed rooms to try and it’s alway cozy and feels like home!

What a gem. Stayed for the weekend, and what an amazing experience. The room was cozy from the moment we walked in the door. Cleaner than my own home, decor was amazing. Joe and Ashley are the BEST. On site providing warm evening bonfires, right there help with all concerns for all staying there and to give information on all the fun activities Jim Thorpe has to offer. We WILL be back!!! Thank you for a perfect Fall getaway ❤️

Such a cute place! I love that it's family owned and you can tell by how personalized their service is. They hand wrote us a welcome note upon arrival, had water, Gatorade, and beers in the room for us, and sent personalized text messages to keep us updated with info both before and during our stay. The room was so cute and you could tell the attention to detail they put into redoing this place. Everything was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay here, loved how easy it was to come and go with keypad entry, and would definitely stay here again. Only minor negative is that it's not walking distance to downtown Jim Thorpe, but a 5 minute drive wasn't bad at all and it was quieter than I imagine the B&Bs are above the bars downtown.

Excellent rooms!! Most have been updated . Hasn't disappointed. Awesome location minutes from town of Jim Thorpe and surrounding areas. Ashley and Joe go above and beyond every time. It's awesome to see what they do and have done with the rooms and each one has a theme. If you get a chance to go to Jim Thorpe and want a place to stay this would be it.

This is the perfect spot for a weekend or night away. We visited with 3 families, each with kids and the accommodations were great! The rooms were spotless and decorations were so cute. Room had plenty of room for the littles. The owners pay attention to the little things like having streaming services easily available, some bonus snacks and drinks available and keyless entry. Our stay was super carefree and fun because of their attention to detail! 5/5 stars!!!

Kudos to Sleeping Bear for providing a comfortable, large and clean room. Location to Jim Thorpe very convenient too. Responsive owners, competitive rates as well. Would suggest having some items to use for heating and eating food in the microwave. In the Rock room the heat did not work in the bathroom.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sleeping Bear Retreat. It’s a quaint hidden gem retreat. We stayed there for four nights in Oct. The room was amazing. Very welcoming and comfortable, the bed was so comfortable, and the room was very clean. Close to a lot of things to do and see. We found a lot of good places to eat, too. The only thing was the internet was spotty at times. We will be visiting again. Thank you The LaRose’s for a great experience!!

Our hosts, Ashley and Joe have created the perfect Mom and Pop getaway motel. They should be so proud of themselves. We are having the best, most comfortable little vaca in years. We usually go south and stay at resorts, but they have given us more amenities in this beautiful little themed room than anyone has ever given in a chain hotel. Made an extra effort to give my husband a special birthday surprise with a banner in the room along with beverages and snacks. Contractor on site even changed our brake light on car! FYI. the room is not so little! Nice space with everything you could need. S'mores by the campfire tonight! Thanks, we'll be back!
