Sleep Inn & Suites Hays I-70 - Hotel in Hays - 1011 E 41st St, USA

Overall, a good stay. Location is easily accessible off I70. Property is clean and the check-in was quick. The rooms were very clean and mostly spacious. Bathrooms were clean. Overall a nice property for the value, but it needs updated. The carpet in the rooms and the hallway is quite worn. But really, no complaints.

Positive: Staff was friendly and easy to work with. Pool and breakfast was nice. A/c was good. Beds were like a twin and half. Very small but clean. Water pressure was great! Bathroom size is nice but lock didn't work. Negative: I booked two rooms in February for reservations in May. I was hoping the rooms were next to each other but the managers booked it that way in the morning and it couldn't be changed. Bathroom lock was broken in our room.

The place was very clean and kept up with. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was your average American hotel breakfast. Only sad part was the Jacuzzi was closed. Pool hours: 9am-10pm Stars are based on location

Beds comfortable but door, walls and ceiling paper thin. Had to put towels around door crack. We had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Kids above us sounded like elephants. Husband only got two hours. We heard street noise and checked window. It was cracked open an inch. No telling how long that had leaked air conditioning. Didn't stay for breakfast as we just wanted out of there. BTW our bill total was $164.00 for one night, same as other brands in area. I expected much better for that price. For us, all we needed was a good night's sleep.

The double rooms offer full-sized mattresses instead of the usual queen. Rooms are small in size, carpet was threadbare in the rooms and hallways. Breakfast was good, offering eggs and sausage, biscuits and good sausage gravy... Multiple flavors of waffle batter to make your own mini or Belgian waffles. Plus the usual offerings of mini muffins, cereal, and yogurt for grab and go. The coffee was exactly what you would expect. Orange juice was the only juice choice. Decent sized indoor pool, but it was not heated well if at all. Customer service at check in was pleasant and helpful. Pet friendly location but not much grass nearby outside... Have to cross a parking lot to find grassy area for dog to "go", no pet waste bags or receptacle. Decent location with multiple restaurants, taverns, and a Walmart all within a mile, several within walking distance.

Rude, went to book a room had to ring the bell three times, when the clerk finally came out he greeted me with an attitude. Seen that I had a small dog with me never said anything about the dog until we paid and got in the elevator. Then he stopped us and said oh we are not pet friendly and told us we had to leave. 😡😡 I travel all over this country and stay a lot of sleep Inns and they are all pet friendly. This is this worst customer service I have ever seen.
