What a beautiful place to visit or have an event. Although the event would have to be held in the Skyland Manor itself, I would highly recommend visiting both the botanical gardens and the manor itself.

We went for the Victorian Christmas...the Manor was beautifully decorated, multiple rooms with different themes. Remember to look for the pickle ornament for a year of good luck. The Manor itself is amazing...I haven't been there in 30 years.

The posted map is unreadable and the grounds are not marked very well. Seemingly public areas are blocked off as private. It might be because of the recent storm, but the grounds had a lot of standing water and bugs. It is a real stretch to call it a botanical garden. There are a couple of outdoor formal gardens with mostly wild flowers.

This is just a beautiful place. Visited them last week and we saw a lot of blooming flowers and plants. The place is free to visit, has a very convenient areas to walk and surrounded by miles of nature trails for this who wants to hike.

Super special place, such a gem for public enjoyment. Certain sections of paved roads are in dire need of repair; some buildings also need attention! They should start charging each person to entering the park and not per vehicle. That might generate enough funds to fix up this beautiful state park.

A hidden gem in northern New Jersey. The state's official botanical garden has impressive grounds that you can wander freely or take a garden tour on Sundays at 2pm. One Sunday a month they have docent guided tours of the manor house, an impressive Tudor style mansion built in the 1920s as a summer residence for the family of Clarence McKenzie Lewis, a member of the board of the NYBG and business acquaintance of JP Morgan. During summer months there is a $5 parking fee per car but otherwise it's free to roam and explore the gardens. In addition to the impressive gardens including the lilac garden, hosta garden, perennial, annual, wildflower, etc. there are fountains and statues. Great place to spend an afternoon and relax and take some great pictures, or do a bit of hiking and explore some wooded trails and ponds and spot birds, rabbits, hawks and other fauna.

Took my girl there for her birthday this place is amazing the website doesn't do it justice Inn keeper is the best we have meet very informative and helpful made u feel at home immediately the castle is incredible from the smallest details in the wood and fire places to many rooms to describe but it lived up to everything I expected and with the inn keeper took it to a new level of excellence we stayed on Nov 18 and on the 20th we booked our next trip there .. personally I'm not a bed and breakfast person but my gf is and we have done many of them this is the only one I wanted to rebook also booked a weekend for my parents anniversary HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Gorgeous landscapes and beautifiul buildings serve as a backdrop to the fragrant floral displays at New Jersey's botanical gardens. Spend a relaxing day wandering the grounds. Worth a visit! 🌸
