We stayed two nights for a wedding at a nearby venue. Charles was a wonderful and kind host. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The entire home was beautiful with great design. The home is right next to a beautiful park and a short drive to great coffee and good. But the best part of the stay was the delicious breakfast in the morning.

My wife & I stayed for two nights in the annex building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we met some great people which included the caretaker Charles. The breakfast was classic, sausage, eggs, biscuits, and hashbrowns that were all delicious. The history of the property being part of the underground railroad was a plus. The main house & annex are not at their best YET, but as caterers/event coordinators, we can see the great potential in the property as the historical site that it is & what it can be to the tourism & local event scene in Cincinnati. This will be our stay at from here on out.

Stayed here for the Taylor Swift concert! The room was amazing- so much space! Breakfast was wonderful each day and the place felt like home very quickly. Charles was so kind throughout our stay! Six acres was off well off the road and felt secluded from the city life. 10/10 would come back again!!

I love the authenticity, the way that this home has been preserved. The customer service is excellent. The breakfast was delicious. Sure, there are areas of the house that need a bit of repair (I.e., the outside). However, for me, it adds to the ambiance. I love how the rooms are quiet. You cannot hear guests in other rooms. You cannot hear the outside traffic. It’s a very wonderful experience because the innkeeper is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. Also, the per night cost is very reasonable. I suggest you try it keeping in mind that it is about the historical experience more so than the luxury. I highly recommend that you try it. You will love it also. I plan to visit the others in other states.

I needed a selfcare day and this bed and breakfast establishment was a great choice. The onsite caretaker, Charles was fantastic. His outgoing personality fits well with this business. The house is beautiful and I loved the Victorian style. Learning the history of this home was fascinating and interesting. My pink room and bathroom were huge. The hot breakfast was delicious. I met a beautiful couple from South Carolina who've been married 53 yrs. We all had a nice conversation about our life experiences. I had a wonderful one night experience. The room rate was affordable and nice to support a small business owner. I look forward to staying here again in the near future. PS It's off a busy street and the sign was a challenge to see when driving at night.

First off- the on site caretaker was very kind and helpful! Outside of him, this was an awful experience. We had a suite booked for months and when we showed up, we were told our room was cancelled. We had never contacted to cancel the room (or contacted them for anything after booking). While we were waiting there to figure it out, another woman there said her room got messed up too. Seems to be there specialty. After booking a hotel elsewhere last minute, we called the owner for our refund and it was the worst customer service experience I ever encountered. She claimed we were lying about not cancelling our room, raised her voice, refused to help us or refund us until she "cross referenced phone numbers", couldn't give us an estimated time she'd get in touch with us, etc. She had promised to text and call us the next day, no text or call ever came (shock!). An email has been sent now a week later with no response. If you want unneeded stress, to be talked to rudely, and to waste your money this is the place!

First of all the web site is misleading and confusing. It does not describe the rooms adequately. We booked Beatrice’s Room because it was listed as having a private bath. But when we arrived we learned Beatrice’s Room is on the 2nd floor and it’s private bath is on the 3rd floor. Both staircases are narrow, long and steep. We were offered Barbara’s Room in the house next door and chose to take that instead as its private bath was en suite. However, the bathroom room floor had been wiped with something incredibly slippery. Fortunately we were given a large stack of towels so we covered the floor with them. The toilet flushed but did not fill without removing the over and jiggling things inside. The toilet seat size and the toilet bowl size did not match. There was no toilet paper holder. The vent above the toilet was extremely dirty. The chair in the bedroom looked so old and dirty we covered it with a blanket we found in the cupboard. The bottom of the shower curtain was pink tinged with mold and there was black mold in the corners of the shower. The mount for the shower amenities remained but there were no bottles. We were given small bottles of shampoo, conditioner etc. The hair dryer mount was empty so no hair dryer was provided. Additionally, the house is on a very busy street. Our room faced that street so there was constant traffic noise. Breakfast was mediocre at best: orange juice, scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits. The hash browns and biscuits did not appear to be made from scratch but rather from grocery store products. The silverware was of a dollar store quality. It was served buffet style. I could continue on but suffice it to say I would not stay here again and I would not recommend this B&B. I’m giving it 2 stars though because the bed was very comfortable and clean. Also the bath towels were of a luxurious quality. And the manager was friendly and apologized both on our arrival and departure for us not getting to stay in the main house.

Stayed 3 years ago.. I was excited to stay at an African-American owned b+b with connections to the Underground Railroad. We were put in the second floor of the annex house, which is closer to the (busy) street. Our room itself was ok, but not overly impressive in terms of historic furniture/ambiance. There was a shared kitchen space on that floor that had 1980s decor. The first floor was a rented living space, and we could smell all their cooking smells. When we walked into the main house for breakfast the following day, we found what should be a sitting room all cluttered and packed with stuff. We walked into the dining area. The owner, a woman, was away while we were there. A male friend of hers was taking care of the place. He was really nice, but the breakfast spread he put out wasn't good. I emailed the owner, and she gave us our money back. We paid for 1 night and stayed for 1 night.
