Stop by this little place that packs an amazing flavor punch. Order potato or beef. You can’t go wrong. I personally like the beef. There are more oils and that meat flavor with the vinegar and rye bread is a must try. Be sure to get everything in them. I started adding sour cream to it and it adds even more flavor goodness. The price is right and the service is usually great. There are sometimes where I had to wait 10 or so minutes for them to refresh the pots, but it turns out that fresh Pel is the best Pel. Enjoy it with a beverage from the fridge and sit in or take them to go. If you haven’t been in yet; go. Enjoy!
Stopped hear for a quick bite while in Sitka on a cruise. Food was DELICIOUS, service was great and we even got to choose the music playing. Such an awesome little hole in the wall that must be tried while in Sitka! I never knew I need Russian Dumplings in my life, and I’m not sure how I will now live without them. Can’t go wrong with beef or potato, but definitely get them with everything on it. SO GOOD.
A must place to go when visiting Sitka if you want Russian experience without going to Russia. Dumplings are fabulous with Sour Cream and Butter. We came here 3 times in 2 days in August 2022 because I loved them so much. That says a lot because am a picky eater.
Delicious dumplings, made to order. Ordered both the potato and beef. Did not disappoint. The rye bread was fantastic! Need a snack while shopping then this is the place!
As a foodie, I wanted to experience these Russian/Alaskan dumplings. We bought an order of beef and one of potato (Alaskan style) and shared. Wow-- a bit too much heat for me but otherwise wonderful! The slice of marbled rye/pumpernickel (with caraway) bread was delicious. To me, this is great for a snack/light meal (not a full, main meal).
A great lunch here. Service was friendly parking on side street was easy. This is a small simple place with two items on the menus. You order at the counter and it takes less than ten minutes to cook. We got an order of each. (Potato & meat). You get dozen small dumplings. We had all the toppings and the flavor was great. When you add the cost which is modest this come across as a great lunch.
Pelmeni, a dish at the heart of Russian cuisine. This light and delicious dumpling is wrapped in a thin dough and is just spicy enough that you know you're trying something different. Topped with rice wine vinegar, Sriracha and I believe to be Old Bay seasonings as well. Don't forget the sour cream. Choose either the meat or potato variety, you can't go wrong. 👌 Takes a bit for them to cook it up for you, but once you have it in your mouth, it'll be all worth the wait!
Oh my gosh! To die for! This is a must visit and you will always be happy! This is a hidden gem on the beaten path and looks very unassuming from the outside. Literally two menu items to choose from and I'm guessing you can never go wrong with either one! The only other one I've seen is in Juneau and I was so excited to get this here too! Definitely the most affordable meal in Sitka and trust me, this will fill you up!

Thank you to the server that recommended the Malbec. I had a half kale salad, that considering how I feel about kale, was really delicious. Also enjoyed the Facacia bread with roasted garlic and basil butter. Not sure how long they stay open after th

Ron Guy helped me find all the parts I needed for several projects. He is just one of the best guys if you need help. I would highly recommend Ace Hardware particularly if you need help figuring out any of your projects.
We went for the touch tanks, which were a lot of fun for both the kids and adults in our group. The hatchery tour was part of the ticket, and I was apprehensive at first but it ended up being awesome! Our guide, Julie, was so passionate about the eco
We hiked here during our stop on the Princess Cruise Line. Was easy to get to from the dock and beautiful to explore. So many Totem poles. Mask required inside the museum. Make sure to watch the short movie as well.
Ultimate bar in Sitka. Sit and have a beer with locals. Anthony Bourdain would love it. Also a liquor store connected, but there is no salesperson, you have to ask the bartender to come over.
