Simply Soulful felt like getting a hug from Harlem! Upon entering the establishment, I could smell the food right away! Simply Soulful’s full menu is available all day. You have to order at the front before sitting down which was kind of annoying especially when there are other people waiting too. Merchant charge when paying with card! To avoid this, bring cash! I ordered the “simply breakfast” which is priced at $15. This included eggs in your style of choice, protein of your choice, side of your choice & a biscuit! I got scrambled eggs, chicken sausage & homefries. The eggs had no flavor at all, I had to add salt & pepper. The sausage was delicious & full of flavor however I wish it was cooked/ grilled longer to give it a nice crispy crust. The homefries were good. Next meal was the catfish & wings combo for $21. This meal came with 2 sides of your choice & cornbread! The sides I got was collard greens & mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was delicious but kind of dry. The collard greens were bitter and needed some seasoning. The waiter/ host said it was cooked with turkey and I didn’t get any of that flavor at all. THE CHICKEN & CATFISH WAS THE STAR OF THE SHOW! A 10/10! THIS RESTAURANT COULD SELL THOSE 2 THINGS ALONE & I’D WAIT IN LINE FOR HOURS JUST TO BUY THEM! BOTH WERE FULL OF FLAVOR! PERFECTLY SEASONED! FRIED TO PERFECTION! JUICY & CRISPY! I’M NOT SURE WHAT THE HECK THEY PUT IN THEM BUT I KNOW FOR SURE, I WILL BE BACK! The Chicken was soo good, we purchased an order to go! Not pictured Sweet Tea & Lemonade! Soo refreshing and yummy! It was perfect for pairing with the soul food! Waiter/Host was very nice, however, he never followed up to see if I needed anything while dining in. I found myself getting up constantly to speak with him. He did however accommodate me very well at each interaction.
I must say that if you have the means because it cost a little bit of money try this restaurant at least once. If you are in the mood for Southern style cuisine you won’t be disappointed. The oxtails will make you write a letter of Congress. That spells phenomenal.
The chicken and waffles were awesome. Chicken is perfectly crispy and served HOT! 😋 biscuits made by Mama were fat and fluffy and the gravy had flecks of flavor throughout. There was a band playing jazz and other oldies that had people tapping their toes while they dined. A lovely Seattle Sunday late morning brunch. Thank you!
Received food pretty quickly and it was delicious. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Most definitely will go back next time I'm in Seattle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Simply Soulful has tasty food and friendly staff. They have some of the best barbecue I’ve eaten in Seattle and good barbecue is really difficult to find around here. They also have sweet tea, which is a plus. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. The pecan pie was also great. My partner loved the fried catfish sandwich. I tried a bite and liked it as well.
I came here for Sunday brunch. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffles were pretty good with crispy chicken. The chicken as per my taste required a bit more salt. My wife got the biscuit and gravy with a sunny side up egg on the side. The gravy as per her taste had more salt and the eggs lacked in presentation. Overall food was okay. The portion size was good for us and service was pretty fast. Their lunch and dinner menu looked pretty good so probably try those out as well the next time I come.
$33 for chicken and waffles and two side dishes, I wish they included syrup with the to go orders and offered you some kind of sauce beforehand for the wings. The wings are a good crunch for them fully cooked on the inside but the taste however, I don’t really taste any seasonings or distinguishable flavors. The $7 sides are okay size portions should be $5. The waffle is fluffy but I was hoping for some flavor like buttermilk or something sweet but it had a plain flavor.
Great seafood Gumbo and green beans...wife had redheads and rice with catfish on the side I had some to taste yeah I loved it...will be back.
I really like the food here. This isn't a sit down place. There is no dining room. You order online and pick up your food or have it delivered through one of the delivery apps / companies they work with. I pick up my orders and bring them home. From

My wife and I came here by accident. We were both very pleasantly surprised by the taste of real coffee. But the main thing is a pleasant atmosphere, unobtrusive quiet music, a cultured audience and very friendly staff. A small coffee shop with a big
