Super cute, beautiful and warm coffee shop with great upper deck seating and nicely appointed lounge. The owner is amazingly friendly and the coffee tastes divine. This place is a real treat.
This is a great coffee place near my work. The barista here is super friendly and quick with the drinks. I really enjoyed my iced matcha tea. They have a common area that you can sit and have a conversation at. This will be my go-to spot by work for future coffee meetings.
Friendly service. Absolutely amazing hot chocolate. Each coffee shop has a different tasting hot chocolate, and this one was among the best I've ever had! Aesthetically speaking, a coffee shop cannot look better than this one. The colors, the materials used in the interior, the building that it is located and the part of old town. Truly a beautiful experience just sitting down inside the cafe. The music was nice when I went in, it was like vintage blues and front-porch guitar blues. Each song had its own unique and old texture. It wasn't too loud, but was not quiet either. I would recommend visiting this place on your tour through Portland's unique cafes. Oh try the pastries too!
Lauren has been running this adorable coffee shop for ten years. She is a stylish perfection of Portland chic, without a hair out of place, while simultaneously baking raspberry croissants (the real thing), pulling fast perfect lattes with a line out the door, and engaging in welcoming conversation. In the middle of this multitasking mastery, I asked her for honesty of the downtown revival. She thinks that we are turning a corner but did mention a few incidents- including someone throwing a beer on her while she was pulling espresso shots. My recommendation is skip the marvelous Stumptown to give this place a whirl. My latte was light roasted deliciousness surrounded by historic masonry and layered timber - How Portland is that?
I stayed for few days downtown. I tested several places, and realized it is the best!!! The coffee is so tasty! I had the Makiato two times a day 😎
Unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. I came to this coffee shop after picking up a donut from voodoo. As I entered everything seemed fine, but boy the service was really off putting. As soon as I grab my drink, I was remind of the outside food policy, which I was aware of because it’s posted on the door. Regardless, I did not appreciate the tone and being reminded of it as I barely grabbed my drink. Now the drink itself was just terrible. The chai tasted wrong. Given the pricy, I expected more.
Incredibly good coffee and delicious scones. We are so lucky to have Simple Local in the neighborhood. A visit is the highlight to my work days!
Thrilled to have stumbled upon this great little coffee shop in the Market Theater. I had my usual, a chai latte, which was perfectly adequate and on par with what I expect. The barista was warm, friendly, and conversational and invited me to take a look at the cafe loft which offers additional seating, some of which is in the form of oversized leather armchairs, perfect for enjoying a good book, or if you aren't careful, an unexpected nap. The space is gorgeous, spacious and airy and VERY well maintained. The barista informed me they had been open for three years but you would think they had just cut the ribbon. With plenty of seating and, in addition to the chai latte, what I can only assume is a continuance of a menu of well prepared and tasty beverages. Despite a fairly sparse selection of non-liquid offerings, (I much rather a place stick to one or the other anyway and do it right), there's plenty here to satisfy anyone you happen to bring along for a nice quiet conversation, out of the way, but not. I'll definitely be going back.

The bright, clean, quiet environment of Capitola Coffee is inviting and open. I had the pour over, and my friend had a salted caramel cappuccino. The coffee was great, although I think my pour over was brewed a bit high, but I realize it's nit-pickin
I really enjoyed this coffee shop. I got lucky with an open comfy, brown leather chair and a delicious oat cappuccino. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich and opted to add the jalapeno salmon spread. Highly recommend that spread, it was amazing!!
