We stayed in unit 605. This unit faces the road, not the lift and ski area. It is a ski in/ski out facility. Lift right outside the back. Overall the facility was great, the unit was not. High end appliances, heated bathroom floors but it is very pricey. You could buy the place and make several payments for what they charge for holiday week rates. The place wasn’t cleaned well. My son actually vacuumed bc it wasn’t cleaned an hour after check in. The people were in a hurry to leave due to snow storm. Shoes and socks were left by previous guests. Poinsettias thrown out on deck, poisonous leaves everywhere. The mattresses were awful. Drains stopped up in tub. Ugh! Pulled tons of hair out. The kitchen is very small. Hard for two people to move around. Slow drain in kitchen sink. Had to run disposal if the water was running or it backed up. Trash was so piled up in the parking garage, the smell was disgusting for days. Owners left lots of things in the closet so it was hard to even put our luggage away. Will look to previous places next time around Bald Eagle Mountain instead of Empire Pass area. Also you don’t get lift ticket discounts booking through Natural Retreats like you do when booking through Deer Valley Resorts which really adds up.

Our family of 6 stayed at the Silver Strike Lodge for 10 days over thanksgiving. These units are individually owned, so check out VRBO and similar sites to contact owners directly about rates and availability. This location is a few miles up the mountain from Park City's main street restaurants and bars. But the location matters because up higher you are away from the crowds and have unbelievable views. It snowed while we were there and our unit #301 had wrap around views from windows in every room. The particular unit we had was high end, thermidor/viking appliances in the chef's kitchen. Also the 4 full size bunk beds were fun for our 4 kids to slumber party every night. There's a delivery service that will bring you restaurant meals at a phone call, and a shuttle van to take you up and down the mountain. We hired a chef at Savory Kitchen and he prepared an amazing Thanksgiving meal - turkey, prime rib, all the sides for less than $250.00. We ate on that for several days while watching football. If you visit before the ski season officially opens, you can get killer deals and uncrowded streets/shops, the way we like it. And just for fun, we did ski opening weekend at Park City and it was a blast!

I stayed for the second time at SSL--with friends. A spacious and luxurious condominium with the best ski-in, ski-out access I've ever experienced. Plus large and well designed ski lockers, free espresso and cookies, on-call shuttle service into town--you name it. You get what you pay for (which in this case is a whole lot). The mountain views are lovely too. Minor quibbles: the TV over the fireplace thing doesn't really work unless you love a stiff neck. With only one small ski run accessing the property, you have to be really careful to find your way home when you end your ski day. There is absolutely nothing going on in the evening at the lodge so nightowls have to expect to head into town (Park City, that is)--10 minutes away by car. And Park City/Deer Valley costs are on the high side compared to many other ski resorts. Still, if you've got the bucks, Deer Valley skiing with this level of comfort and service can't be beat. Note that we did negotiate down from the condo's asking price, so that might be an option, particularly in light snow ski seasons like 2011-12.

Ski in/ski out. Nice staff. Very good location. A bit pricey.

The overall experience was amazing. The rooms are extremely nice and cozy. A true ski in ski out. The lift is only steps away. Perfect location, very quiet. The shuttle service was always on time. Nice cozy and warm fireplace and tv in the common area. But the only negative thing about that was there was only hot water for coffee and tea. They were always out of milk and you had to provide your own hot chocolate. There were never any snacks or cookies that we saw. It seems with such a nice place as Silver Strike, they would keep hot chocolate and small snacks or cookies out....like most of the other lodges do.

Our first trip to Deer Valley and we could not have chosen a better lodging option.||We are experienced skiers, so the location of the lodge, mid-mountain, and steps away from the lift, was excellent. You want to be mid to upper mountain to access quickly the more difficult terrain of the resort. Updated condo unit with luxurious furnishings. 24hrs concierge service, basic gym, complementary shuttle, underground parking, and much more. Very good value for the money (compared to Montage which we were considering).||Will definitely return to Silver Strike Lodge in the future.

Unit 405, this was an absolutely beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo. The master bedroom with King Bed, fireplace and outstanding bathroom, 2nd Bedroom, another King and ensuite bath, ok, with 1 sink, a liitle tight and not nearly as luxurious as the master, but still great. The 3rd bedroom had 4 bunks, 1 being a double, the third bath was not ensuite but had a nice shower also. Kitchen was really nice with all Viking appliances. Living room, dining room combo would accomodate 8 nicecly, Ski in/out was a true one, and perhaps one of the best I've seen, meaning you literally walked out the door and the Silver Strike chair was right there. The outdoor hottub was again one of the largest and nicest I've seen. Exercise room in the building was small but very adequate. Heated underground parking, another plus. The only negative is that you need to use dial a ride or have a vehicle as it is not within walking distance to anything except the ski lift, which is why we went. Highly recommend this unit, really beautiful.
