Silver Sands Motel - Motel in Clearwater Beach - 415 S Hamden Dr, USA

While the room was clean, the cooling setup was inadequate. The room relied on a window A/C unit and three box fans, which needed to be strategically placed to keep the bedroom cool. Turning off the fans caused the room to warm up immediately. The property did not have a grill onsite for cooking, and the only available means for preparing food was a microwave. Be warned that if an unforeseen hurricane is approaching, you will not receive a refund for any part of your stay. Despite the obvious danger, the hotel refused to refund me for the unused nights. The staff was uncooperative and showed no empathy for the situation. Their snarky response was, “We are quite accustomed to the weather." This lack of concern for guest safety and inflexibility during a natural disaster is unacceptable, especially when local food businesses are closed and there are no other means of making food. The room and the overall property were clean and well-maintained. The motel is conveniently located within walking distance of an ice cream shop. Check-in was smooth and parking was easy. Overall, while the location and cleanliness of the motel were positive aspects, the poor cooling system, lack of cooking facilities, and the inflexible and unsympathetic response during a hurricane make it difficult to recommend.

We reserved a room on Expedia for this place, just for the weekend. Check-in was unlike anything I've ever experienced, and it was easy as could be. We never had to actually speak with anyone, but there was a number posted to text for emergency issues. I loved the little things that were done to make our stay better. It's an absolute hidden gem and worth what we paid, then some! I wish I could have met the owners, but we will be back soon! I would love to make this a regular thing, since we don't live far!

Great value overall. Quiet as can be. (We just left, and never saw a single soul, 😆..talk about laid back, this place is amazing!). Basics provided and then some! Last minute availability. Friendly, handcrafted atmosphere. 4 minute walk from the beach ❤️🌞. Comfortable and consumer friendly with that "we care" touch. Do not listen to any of the negative reviews by the Karen's who have done so. I don't see how anyone could be on the beach, for this price, and be so pissy. 🤷‍♂️🌞 Yes, it could be better, but for the price and all the other pro's given, it is way more than adequate. Ty and we will be back/spread the word!

Absolutely amazing stay! Super close to the beach and nice pool at the resort. Would definitely recommend to friends/family and coming back again for sure!

I have been coming here for over 10 years ! Nice pool area, new furniture . And walking distance to beach and restaurants. And also I like the fully furnished kutchens & BBQ. Family owned and operated which is so nice!

we had reserved for the month of 2024, we had left a deposit of $200, the price was agreed, I had a receipt. when I called in December to make the final payment, she told me that she was raising the orix by $1000 even though we had an agreement, she sent me an email only indicating if we wanted to cancel, she would reimburse us for the deposit. we canceled, it's February and we never got a deposit. BE CAREFUL, SHE'S A LIAR, A THIEF AND A FRAUDSTER. update: what she wrote is still a lie, I have proof that elkec is supposed to return my deposit, she never did, she is a thief, and what's more our agreement was $2800 for the month

Although they are family owned and friendly. |They own three hotels and not one pool is clean! Silver Sands, Beachhouse and Sands Point Resort. ||We booked a month and every time I asked about the pools, their response was the pool guy isn’t responding. Today it was they are coming when I offered to put shock in the pool, then it was the pumps are broken. |I asked to leave early, her response was no. ||I found garbage under the beds and couches. |The A/C barely cools the room. |There is mold in the bathroom around the shower, you can tell the shower floor has never been scrubbed. Decorations taped up around the kitchen area hiding imperfections or damage. |There is duck tape in the fridge. No smoke detectors, just a hole in the roof. |Said we could use the grill, it had caked on food from whoever used it last. |Apparently their washers and dryers are broken so they allowed me to do a load in their personal ones for $7. |The trash is always overflowing. The view from my patio is a roof top with junk on it. |Don’t try to use the fire pit because the propane isn’t connected properly. |The friendly cozy feel is nothing in comparison to how I feel with her refusing to refund any portion of what I paid, especially after I brought this to her attention. |I’ve been here 3 days of the month I booked, that’s plenty of time to get someone else. |I am a single mom and this act by another single mom is disgusting! |My kids can’t swim, they have to be quiet as to not disturb the guests downstairs. Respectfully, this is wrong.

Great value and find. Easy check in and communication was excellent. Highly recommend as it checked all the boxes without breaking the bank. Happy I chose to stay for the week!
