Silver Gull Motel - Hotel in Wrightsville Beach - 20 E Salisbury St, USA

We drove to Wilmington from Charlotte for a quick overnight to get our beach fix, and this hotel had the perfect location right at the beach, free parking, great walkability to restaurants and coffee shops and a balcony with ocean views. The last thing I wanted after a 4 hour drive was to drive to eat or drink. Nice people, no frills room. I would go again.

Business/personal trip. The room was clean, with a partial view of the ocean as promised, loved the kitchenette and separate bathroom areas, allowed early check-in, and the staff were awesome! The worst part of the trip was parking in the garage. Grateful I did not have to pay to park but it is a tight fit.

This is my second time staying at the Silver Gull. Great location right on the beach and by the pier. Staying on the 3rd floor will get you better views of the ocean from your balcony. Rooms are spacious and it's convenient to have a kitchenette. The hotel is older and shows its age, but their rates are way more affordable than the fancier hotels on Wrightsville Beach. Definitely will stay there again.

This motel is in a fantastic location…on the beach. It offers private beach access and is literally right next to the pier. Most if not all rooms have views of the ocean. Private, shaded parking is a big plus as parking rates are $5/hr or more. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and include a mini kitchen but with a full-sized frig. Restaurants and live music are in walking distance. We can’t wait to come again!

Fantastic hidden gem right on Wrightsville Beach. Super friendly staff, spacious rooms and AMAZING views. The cookware & dinnerware included in the kitchenette was super convenient, and so was the free covered parking. We loved the private access to the beach and outdoor shower. Also super clean upon arrival. I would suggest a small broom & dustpan for spot cleaning, for those with young children or who are just prone to knocking over open pretzel bags (our family is both). Definitely will be coming back.

This was a truly amazing location.My husband and I had never stayed at this location and took a chance on it. We got a room directly on the beach and enjoyed both the balcony and the wonderful deck area with chairs in place to enjoy the beach. It was directly next to the pier and located next to a number of restaurants and beach locations. It had everything we needed in the kitchenette to prepare on own meals or keep leftovers from the local restaurant. The service was exceptional! We were greeted with a smile and given a list of local restaurants and locations. When we needed to check out early the next day, the person at the desk was helpful and made sure we had what we needed. We will be back! Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay here. This was our first time here and was pleasantly surprised. Good location , close to the pier, beach was nice. Rooms was clean and great air conditioning. Parking is tight at the hotel but manageable. Staff was friendly and answered all our questions.

What good luck to stay at the Silver Gull Hotel!! Been to Wrightsville Beach many times as a kid, but first time back in years and first time in a hotel (vs a cottage). Can’t beat the location. Right next to the Johnny Mercer Pier. I wasn’t expecting to be right on the beach! There’s a hotel-only over-the-dunes boardwalk to the beach that ends at a deck with chairs where we sat one night watching beach walkers carrying flashlights that bounced off the waves. Beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms - large and with a kitchenette that had a full-size fridge (huge plus!). Covered parking. Walking distance to restaurants. Reasonably priced. Great value. We’ll be back.
