Silas W. Robbins House - Featured Reviews (53)
Beware, my experience at this B and B has spoiled me for every other place be it hotel or B and B we have stayed this year! Our visits were in October as well as for two days in December (rather than stay in Newport to see the mansions at Christmas). One might wonder why I waited to long to write a review and it is simple, I am selfish. I wanted to be sure I got my dates this year before I let others know how stylish, spotless and welcoming The Silas Robbins is. ||Olga and Dimitri are wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. We have stayed at other B and Bs where the hosts were literally breathing down our necks. Breakfast is a work of art prepared by Olga. It provides a small glimpse of what it must have been like to live as the Astors and Vanderbilts did if only for a a short time.||As far as cleanliness goes, this place is immaculate! I tried and tried to find a speck of dust or a finger print anywhere and it was impossible ( which makes my heart sing).||Now that I have secured my two visits in October and one in December I am willing to share this treasure. It is perfection in Historic Weathersfield!
The cleanest, most well appointed, luxurious and lovely stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, the room and the hosts. Breakfast was tasty. The many sitting and communal rooms were unique and thoughtfully designed. The town is interesting and worth a visit. Thank you!
The perfect getaway moment. Dmitriy and Olga are exceptional host, kind and hospitable. The breakfast makes you feel fancy and cozy. This is a must stop for anyone, but especially history lovers. We hope to be back soon!
Best of the Best. Having stayed at many B&B's throughout the years, I can easily say that the Silas Robbins House is at the top. Olga and Dmitriy were exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The house itself is spectacular. The renovation/rebuild from the early 2000's was an incredible accomplishment. The 3, yes 3, course breakfast was out of this world. The fruit cup was a work of art as well as delicious. Then came the eggs and pancakes/waffles. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone who wants a perfect stay away from home.
This place is magical. The inn and its grounds are gorgeous and impeccably cared for and the innkeepers, Dimitry and Olga took care of our every need. Breakfast each morning was delicious and served according to our schedule; every evening after we returned from dinner, Dimitry brought us wine glasses and we played cards at the dining room table. Also, the beds are very comfortable and we all slept soundly. I can't recommend Silas Robbins highly enough, we've stayed in many B&Bs and this one might be our favorite.
Truly a serene haven in CT. Just an incredible B&B stay from start to finish. Dmitriy is the most wonderful host. He called earlier in the day to confirm when we were arriving so he’d be ready and greeted us outside in the rain and helped with our luggage. He gave us a tour of the beautiful house and we loved our rooms. We had the Jane Robbins room which had a beautiful bathtub and the Silas Robbins room which had a desk overlooking the grounds. Every morning he prepared a beautiful breakfast that was a variety of fruit, eggs, and pancakes/waffles over the days we were there. There is a reading room, music room, lots of common areas to read and relax. They offer books, cookies, coffee and soft drinks throughout your stay. They make wonderful recommendations for meals. It was truly a perfect place to stay-calming, welcoming and beautiful. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.
We spent four delightful days and nights at the Silas W. Robbins House. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The hosts are lovely, gracious people who could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We started each day with a delicious full breakfast: fruit, eggs, bacon, toast, and pancakes or waffles, with coffee or tea and juice. Our room was cozy and comfortable and, as several reviewers have mentioned, they were absolutely spotless.||We were the only guests for three nights of our stay, and Dmitriy invited us to treat the house as if it were our own. We loved exploring the different areas of the house, finding cozy spots to read and talk. The grounds were just as much fun to explore, and so was the neighborhood; the house is located on Wethersfield's historic green, and we enjoyed walking there. ||I've never found it so easy to write a five-star review. In fact, it's difficult to avoid hyping this lovely B&B too much. We're already looking forward to another visit.
My husband and I just returned from a two day stay at Silas W Robbins house. I cannot say enough about our stay. The house is impecable and the hosts Demetry and Olga are amazing. We will definetely return again. Didn't have one compaint other than too much food at breakfast, which was delicious from start to finish.
Lynne does a wonderful job with my annual physicals and with follow up for medications when needed. She has a good bedside manner and is always thorough in her work. Super person and APRN!
How can ANYONE complain about D & D Market?? One of the few Italian markets that has survived for decades! I for one appreciate the historical aspect but the prepared foods and the various old school offerings, are the hook.
The search is over!
I have been searching for 7 years to find a Chicken Cutlet sandwich that compared to the Deliâs back home on Long Island. I have found a few decent ones throughout the state of CT but Wethersfield Pizza House blew the rest out
First time trying their ice cream and canât complain at all! Ordered 4 flights with different flavors. We had about 10 different flavor ice creams, a couple of each of the cookies, brownies, and each flavor macaroons. Money was well spent! Deliciou
