Signal Hill Motel Beach Motel - Motel in Signal Hill - 3101 CA-1, USA

I cannot thank them enough. This motel is lovely, and I am sad to be checking out soon. Despite the other reviews, I have not seen ONE SINGLE BUG since I've been here, which is almost for a month. Also it's QUIET. I am quiet and no one has bothered me at all and I am grateful. They are respectful of my privacy and if I need anything, I can ask for it no problem. Oh the only thing I had to figure out was the hot water. It's REVERSED lol. So if people can't understand that, then they haven't traveled much. The garden is beautiful. They care about the property. Also FYI, yeah there's fast food close by, laundromat, etc. Traffic circle is close by. Just no ice machine but the Sea Rock down the street does and you can use the same key card 😉

Four person room, two beds. One had two flat sheets and a bedspread about as thin as the sheet. Very uncomfortable mattresses, dirty shower and floor corners. It took us 45 minutes to get the TV to work, had to move furniture to plug in the microwave. No wash cloths for bathing. No services, we had to empty our trash and request toilet paper. Soda machine mislabeled, selected diet cola, got regular, twice. Positive: A/C works well, fair price during Grand Prix weekend. Across the street from fast food, laundry.

Arrived here after 17 hr flight around 1, asked if I could check in early. They said no, I would have to wait until 3pm, the room was not ready. Okay, I get it, I've worked in a hotel before. Asked if i could just leave my bags there so I could go somewhere else in the meantime(after showing my ID and reservation) they said no. Ok, not great hospitality, but I'll go waddle over to the Del Taco for 2 hours with my bags and 2 hrs of sleep after a 17 hr flight. After 2 hours waiting there, I come back to check in at 3 as requested, receptionist says the room is still not ready. I've been waiting at the Del Taco for 2 hours! To top it off the receptionist told me "go find the cleaning lady in room 4 and tell them to do your room first". First off, why didn't you do that after I came at 1(or during the 2 hours I was waiting), and why are you telling me to do that? Isn't that your job? After then waiting in the sun on the curb for another 15-20 minutes, I finally get my keycard and check in. Receptionist tells me they're having a bad day with one maid calling in sick and to not write anything bad about her. I could deal with them not allowing an early check in, but the rest was just straight up rude. I don't like feeling like someone thinks they can walk all over me and then ask that I not even complain.

Booked a room at Expedia and when I got there, it was not like it said in the ad no way to get a wheelchair in when I called the next day because I couldn’t even pull into the parking lot being full to talk to somebody about it as soon as they heard, I had a Room booked. They hung up on me and then straight to voicemail after that worst place ever do not stay here.

Online details description says additional room, which there wasn't. My key card didn't open the door. The maintenance man had to manually open it for me, then i had to stay in my room and couldn't go get something to eat cause the key wouldn't work.

Decent quality motel. Enjoyed my stay here while I was in between apartments. As I was leaving new owners took over the motel. This review is for the old owners who were great people and thoughtful. Simple rules just to have a equitable experience with other guests . Not a fancy resort but it does the job with a solid bed, clean floors, good tv with great channels, and a solid working a/c. Of all the motels that's within 5 miles of this location, this one had no bugs, and I had a quiet experience, it was cozy. I spent some time looking for a place that was clean. This is it.

dirty dirty dirty, Lots of people beating on the doors of the rooms, 0 help from management, the listed # doesn't even belong to the actual hotel, more rooms than parking spaces... Stayed here 30 days and they didn't clean 1 single time.

Room 9 is infected with roaches, and there's no hot water to shower. The room smells like cigarette and also the pillows. The front desk lady looks at me like I'm no one. But the guy gave me a big smile.
