Siesta Motel - Motel in Newington - 2089 Berlin Tpke, USA

The staff command in English but act like they can't understand a lick of anything your saying. Said my dogs were ok at the afternoon of bought to proceed to make issues about it half way through my stay. Says it's not ok, makes new sign to point out saying pets are not ok for point out. Your pets are not welcome but there roaches are. They won't care about you, the rooms. The rooms are a health Hazzard. They would jiggle my door knob to unset my dog. Listens like a brick. Your neighbors are dope/crack dealers or shiesty I'll check your car while you are sleeping kind of people. I lifted a pot an heard roaches fall back onto the stove top. Mattress an walls full of mold.nothing was cleaned before hand. Someone's left over tooth brush an soap was in the bathroom. I have been here for a little less than a month. It is alright. It is an inexpensive motel. There are a lot of, how shall I say, lower quality people here, but for the most part, I have had only a little difficulty with people. I think the owners could be more responsive to my needs. But when it was needed the most, they were able to allow me to switch room to one that didn't have a very disturbing next door neighbor. ||||I thought the room was comfortable enough, the bed was fair, I had a refrigerator and a couple of burners in the room I am in, a microwave and it had adequate cabinet space. Like I said, I have been here several weeks and I am still here. It can't be too bad if that is the case.

I’ve been staying here for almost a week now . They have put so much work into not only the rooms but the landscaping. I absolutely love it here it is so peaceful and the rooms are clean , they smell good . The flowers outside really make it look homey . This is by far the best place to stay on Pulaski highway . They have beyond reasonable prices . I am beyond pleased with their service ! 5/5 stars and I would highly recommend visiting here !!!!

The price is reasonable. It was very clean. Hot water was so good.. loved it recommending this place. I went with my kids and husband they have a small space for the kids to enjoy some fresh air. Staff was very nice friendly. Always have staff at front desk 24/7!! Washer and dryer 😄👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Room was cleaned daily. Called & was given the weekly rate. The following day, I went to see one of rooms and the rate increased. When l rented the room the rate increased again. They claimed the rate had same for a very long time. Only reason I stayed was because I was out of options for that week. Also, you're not allowed guests after 8 or 9 pm. They threaten to tow their vehicle.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for quite a while after moving to CT and while looking for a place. Prior to staying here, we stayed at the Plymouth Motor Lodge briefly(absolutely horrible!!) And closer to the Siesta at the Grantmoor, very briefly! The Grantmoor charges the same price, but it offers roaches and we weren't feeling that so... As far as the siesta motel goes, it is, imo, the BEST affordable motel on the turnpike. I believe it's $40 per night for a queen bed. It was $287 per week including Connecticut's insane 15% tourism (?) tax in addition to sales tax. The Siesta is super clean!! The rooms are small, but comfortable. Basic rooms come with a microwave and refrigerator (really important during extended stays), free decent Wi-Fi, a big screen TV with a decent cable lineup including HBO and free porn.. If you're into that. The staff is okay, but the language barrier presents a problem at times. We had a couple issues like the washing machine does not work, don't try it. It's a water off money. We tried explaining that to the staff, but they couldn't understand us, but refunded us. Also, at one point we had our son with us and asked them to disable the porn and again they couldn't quite understand our request. When we spoke to the manager, he said there was no way to do that. So keep that in mind if you have children and stay away from property channel 1 or not, idrc...lol. The housekeeping staff can be a lil aggressive or maybe they just come off that way. Like they're suspicious if you don't want your room cleaned daily? It was a lil awkward, especially when four employees show up at your door, but it it's family owned. Also they try to clean way too early, not a big deal. My only real complaint though is actually a testament to the fact that they take pride in their motel. On the last day of a separate stay, they were renovating a room and started drilling and hammering at 8:30am! So while I was quite aggravated, it does mean that they are constantly making repairs and improvements. That is another thing about the Siesta, they replaced the furniture and installed a bigger TV during our stay. They really do take a lot of pride in this place. We had a free minor issues, but I really do highly recommend the Siesta.

Though there is some hillbillies staying here that hang out in the courtyard during the day, this place is beautiful! The staff is fairly nice, I just didn't know that they don't work on Sunday's (I.e. no room service). The beds are elevated from the floor which is really nice. I only saw 1 roach & I killed it. I'm from Houston, so I have seen plenty of them down there. The bathrooms are cute & efficient. The Windows have obviously been upgraded & they are beautiful if you love the natural air & the beauty of the outside (screens cover once opened).

Along the Berlin Turnpike there are many lodging options. The Turnpike can be a good choice when on business or staying for about a week for social reasons. However, the Siesta really stands out. The rooms are clean, and the grounds are well-kept. Tons of Hot Water and fresh linens each day. Check in is easy and the staff are incredibly pleasant. Keep in mind, this location stands out on the Berlin because of the great location. ||||There are longer term residents that are from out of state here in CT doing long-term contracting jobs. But the Management do an excellent job keeping away transients and any problematic persons, which is refreshing to see along the Turnpike. ||||Bottom line? A good spot and safe, clean and affordable.
