Sierra Pelona Motel was perfect. Rooms are charming and cozy. Sylvia is very helpful and friendly. Our room has a flat screen with Spectrum TV. The room also has a heater / AC that had our room at a perfect temperature for that cold rainy night when we stayed. I will definitely come back.

This Motel was on the Barnaby Jones Show back in season 7 of 1978. Never been to California but watching these types of shows like Mannix Cannon Rockford Files. I check on google to see if they look 👀 the same. Usually they don’t because of the times. But I would love to visit some of these locations of some of these shows.

This is a perfect hideaway, off the beaten track. In the middle of nowhere, poor cell service makes you're location untraceable. Property and rooms are old dated but that kind of makes it cool. There are no convenience stores or restaurants within miles of this property, so arrive with snacks and beverages. No room service, and the rooms hardly look like the were cleaned. TV and entertainment is limited so unless you like solitude and wandering around rough terrain, bring things to keep yourself and especially your kids occupied. Rooms are small and sparsely decorated. I recommend you also bring your own pillows, blankets and toiletries I don’t think they even stock the rooms with the usual supplies found in most motel rooms. NO Wi-Fi SERVICE - location is VERY remote. But, if you’re a movie or television buff and want to check out one of the most filmed locations in California-then this motel should definitely be on your Bucket List. It had been used in 1000’s of movies and TV shows. Fun trivia game try and name Movies and TV shows that feature this property, see how many you can come up with.

I've stayed here a few times....and each time is so pleasant. The staff is great, very accommodating, the rooms are out-dated, but not dirty, or scummy. The rooms had a fridge and microwave. Basic televisions...i mean, nothing about this place is luxury. Not up scale or fancy. But if your looking for a more intimate stay without all the bells and whistles, maybe feel like disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of the city, then this is the place your looking for. Nostalgic, quiet, serene....a real hidden gem.

I've done a couple of locations here. Great place fora gritty hotel shoot but I definitely wouldn't stay here. Every room stinks of cigarettes and has stains and feels sticky. But again if you're filming it's what you're looking for. I'd never lay on one of their beds .

I love this place!! Rural, remote, totally casual and absolutely comfortable for a 1930’s vintage motor inn. Fabulous French restaurant just down the road, and vineyard next door. Will stay again if I find myself in Agua Dulce!!

So nostalgic! Did my “Duel road trip” to honor the movie’s 50th anniversary this past July. “Bates” like and remote but a very nice staff. Highly recommend Le Chance French Restaurant, about a 2 minute drive from the motel. Looking forward to coming back.

Stayed here in July 2015 at the beginning of my motorcycle retirement trip of the Mainland US. Price was decent and staff was ok. Would have given one more star but room smelled of cigarette smoke. Other than that it was fine.
