Side Yard Public House - Restaurant in Escondido - 10326 Meadow Glen Way E, USA

We visited late Saturday afternoon and easily found seating for our party of six, including a baby stroller. It's a delightful spot with a unique charm and delicious food. You place your order at the bar, and they promptly bring it to your table. Both my lady and I opted for the burger, and we were absolutely delighted with our choice. The burger had that perfect smash style, nestled on a perfectly toasted bun. We each ordered a side of tots, but soon realized that it was a generous portion, and we ended up sharing with the table. The staff was friendly, and parking was a breeze. However, the only drawback was the presence of a significant number of flies, which was a bit of an annoyance.

Great place to hangout and have drinks, it's definitely more of a social setting. I wouldn't recommend this as a place to have dinner. The food wasn't to my liking. When we first arrived I was expecting someone to greet and sit us but noone ever came. So walk in find a menu (at the bar) and enjoy. I would go here again when I want to watch the game and have a few drinks.

It was really hot to sit outside, there were fans but that wasn’t enough. There was a cooler conditioning fan but it needs water, it sat empty. The food was not bad, I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. The wine was a good deal, $5 from the bottles that was opened the previous day. The eating area was nice and quaint. But it was hard to enjoy the food when it was so hot. There were flies everywhere.

The meatball sliders, burger, and pretzel were really good! The aesthetic of the patio was modern and fresh. Definitely want to go back to try more of the menu! The fish tacos didn’t come with lime and batter was bland, but adding salsa helped. The carne asada tacos didn’t have a good grill on the meat so it tasted more like stewed beef. Soda refills were awkward as they required getting in line at the bar because there’s no self service or table service. Without the table top fly swatter fan device, the flies would have been intolerable. Definitely ask for one! There’s not a lot of restaurants in the area and even though there were some aspects that we didn’t like, overall we were excited to visit again

This place is popular with the locals and is pretty much the only decent restaurant in the area. The place is cozy and the food was pretty good, although the service definitely left something to be desired. Waited 30+ minutes for my food but the truffle fries were good.

Side Yard has delicious food that is hard to find in our area! I got their Cluck Norris sandwich and it was perfectly crispy, crunchy with pickles and cabbage slaw, and spicy with a bit of cool down from ranch dressing. We also ordered a side of truffle fries and they were the most perfect fries I've had in a long time. The owner was super friendly and the restaurant had a cool vibe. We'll definitely go back!

Went here for lunch because of the reviews. It did not disappoint. Love the ambiance and self serve of water and condiments. You order at the bar and they give you a number. It’s open seating and they allow pups on the patio. A little expensive but the food was worth it!

Beautiful space and the personnel is very friendly. The food was average and the wait was about 45 mins on a day where it didn’t seem very busy. It seems like a great place to hang out and have a few drinks but perhaps not necessarily to sit and eat.
