Shrimp express - Fast food restaurant in Calumet City - 911 River Oaks Dr, USA

My mother and I decided to try this Shrimp Place. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. There shrimp were a very good size for the price. We had fries with our order. They definitely give you enough. Will definitely be paying this Shrimp Place again. They did not disappoint us at all.

First time here. Shrimp were nice and crispy. Ordered 1 lb large. They were big. It's definitely worth a try. I wish they had cocktail sauce though. They only have mild or hot sauce

Best fried shrimp on the planet! Fish and sides are on menu also. Large shrimp would be considered jumbo anywhere else. The batter is crisp, crunchy, and perfectly, lightly seasoned. They offer a serious side of hot sauce and coleslaw comes with the dinners. Well worth the 30-minute drive to get there. Wish they had locations on Chicago south side. Drive-thru or counter pick up only. No inside or outside tables. Unless you live close by, be prepared to eat in your car while your order is nice and hot. Reasonable pricing and fast, pleasant service.

No longer the best shrimp in the South Suburban area. Different than Shrimp Express. Shrimp used to be sweet and fresh. Just picked up my order. I'm disappointed. Couldn't tell the catfish filet from the perch without tasting it first. Though the shrimp are huge, they don't taste the same. Won't be back 😌.

These were delicious and the discount on Tuesdays and Wednesdays made it worth my first visit. The large shrimp were cooked perfectly! Also, thank you Shrimp Express for not having a salty coating which is the problem I have with many places. I will definitely be back.

I last visited this place when they only accepted cash so yes, it's been years since my last visit. The only upside to my recent visit was being able to use my debit card. I ordered 2lb of jumbo 🍤 and a pound of "catfish," and they know they're not selling catfish but swai because I've eaten enough catfish in my life to know the difference. People wake up and stop settling. THEY (the non-black Americans) always try to get over on US (black Americans), and we've been allowing it and continue to allow it. We have enough buying/spending power to have our own and provide quality food to the community. Unless you're jones'n and/or desperate for some seafood, stay away. They don't even have scallops anymore, and the menu is thin, to say the least.

Quick service and delicious food, and fir the price it is well worth it. I definitely recommend this place for some fresh and hit delicious shrimp. Also try the garlic sauce it's unbelievable.

It is truly one of the best fried seafood locations around. The building looks dismal, and the interior could use a refresh, but overall, the quality of their food makes it worth the visit. I would encourage ordering by phone in advance of your anticipated arrival.
