Shoreline Park is a great place to hit the beach for swimming in American Lake or fishing off the docks. The swimming area is fenced off, has lifeguards, a slide into the Lake, and volleyball. Perfect place to spend a hot summer day with friends and family.
The docks need some serious maintenance. People also need to learn how to pick up their trash before leaving. There are a few buildings that could be actually used if they were ever open. Other than that it's a pretty nice place.
Probably one of JBLM's best kept secrets. Great park/playground/walking trail and swimming hole, lots of docks made for fishing off of too. You can often see Bald Eagles as well. Base access or a sponsor is required to visit. Little American Lake is no wake too, so that is nice. BIG PLUS: how often can you find a beach in Washington State with sand!!! If you want to rent a covered pavilion, do so through Russell Landing Marina. Super cheap. Deposit is refundable if you clean up after yourselves. Swimming in the roped off area is supposed to be limited to Fri-Sun, noon-6, Memorial Day-Labor Day, when they have lifeguards on duty, but I've seen a ton of kids in there without lifeguards, just know you are responsible for your child's well being! Try to take your garbage out with you, they sometimes have an issue with can overflowage in the summer.
Quiet, calm, and really only busy on the weekends.
A beautiful lake with gorgeous eagles and large bass, but its always covered in trash. Wouldnt be a bad spot for some extra duty.
My dog loves his walks here! It is a great place to hang out and get with nature!
A really nice park to go swim with a large sandy beach section, no rocks in the water, and nice water temperature with plenty of room to swim. Also a nice platform with a slide. The only cons are indoor bathrooms are closed (a row of portos only), not much grass around for pets, and no more lifeguard like in past years, which was great for the kids.
We had an awesome time here. They have a small fishing pier, pavilions, picnic tables, grills, and restrooms. If you make reservations they will issue a key to the restrooms otherwise you will be using portables.

Holy cow. After reading the reviews at 4.9 stars on google I was ready to be disappointed after setting my expectations too high. Let me tell you how wrong I was. Yes there was a wait but that meant I got fresh food. The owner made a very friendly at
Very nice scenic views around the lake. You can go check in the slide area and rent a boat, or the pavilion across it, or just walk up to the lake shoreline through the conference hall side and play with the ducks or take pictures. Itâs beautiful a
Went with my son to get a pass for a short visit. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We were helped quickly and were in there about 15 minutes. Be sure to have your license, car registration and proof of insurance before you go!
