This is a great place to stay in Benicia. This was our third stay but the first since the new owners, Steve and Christina, bought the inn. The rooms are clean and well equipped. We stayed in #5 which has a large deck with a water view. Just note that this is an old building and it doesn't have an elevator. The breakfast is delicious. Great coffee, hard cooked eggs, lots of fresh fruit, a variety of breads for toasting PLUS the owner will prepare eggs as you like them with bacon or sausage. Walk to all the shops, restaurants, marina and water front area. We will be back next year!
My wife and I stayed at the Shore Light Inn recently. The location is a wonderful spot for a romantic getaway and the service was 10's. The owner was very nice and approachable. She personally cooks you breakfast in the morning. I was impressed.
The dissaponting parts to our stay was that although the rooms are vintage and super cute, the mattress was the most stiff I have ever slept on. The furniture fits the time period so when you walk in it all looks great, but you sit down and realize that it's terribly uncomfortable. Lastly the coffee maker in the room did not work, creamer was too old to use and there is no door on the bathroom.
None if this really bothered me except the bed. Each time we moved we woke the other person up, I finally got up at 6am because I was too sore to lay in the bed any longer.
Nice place, nice people, but I would not stay there again as is.
I read another review and thought it looked like this person was disgruntled. You know those reviews that look clearly unhappy. But as my hubby and I went through the different aspects of our stay, I found that I agreed with him on a few details. Here were our thoughts: 1. Prepare to walk up some unevenish stairs to get to the check-in. 2. Our room had lots of windows but we were instructed to only open the ones with screens. That limited our choices. They need to be re-strung to be workable. 3. The bed was firm, but we were okay with it. Unfortunately, you could not move as the whole thing squeaked and rattled with the slightest movement. Breakfast was good and cheerful to sit with others staying there. But there was room if you wanted privacy. 6. Forget ease of parking. It isn't! And lastly the furniture in our room just looked a bit dated, not antique-like.
All In all a great location but in need of some help. Hope this doesn't deter you from booking as it is a great location and the property is smack dab in the middle of it all.
This was my first time traveling by myself. It was also a first for being away from my young child. Such a welcomed and needed night away. After searching and reviewing all the local accommodations I finally landed on Shorelight Inn and I could not have been more delighted!
Walking distance to an array of accommodations. I felt safe, relaxed and taken cared of.
Wendy is exceptional. Loved every single interaction I had with her. She’s a gem.
The soaking tub & complimentary evening wine was a ticket winner. My own private balcony overlooking the water and bridge was beautiful and rejuvenating.
There is no doubt I will be back. Thank you Shorelight Inn. Thank you Wendy ♥️
Lovely! Really enjoyed our time here! This a traditional B&B: took me back to my stays at Santa Barbara B&B’s! It is truly much nicer than you can see from the pictures. A great way to usher in entering our 6th decade (yikes)! All I really wanted was to wake up to the water! Shorelight did not disappoint! ||First off is location. Right on the water and If you stay in “Pink Palace” you retire and rise with breathtaking views of the bay, without even getting out of bed! The bed is incredibly comfortable and the jetted tub was exactly what I needed. The room is spacious and well-appointed with mini fridge, micro, coffee/wine bar, and stocked with linens and toiletries. Just outside the French doors is a rather large balcony, perfect for taking in the bay view or the quaint neighborhood. Sitting on the lower level patio and enjoying the fireplace, was a fav activity. We walked the entire town where there’s restaurants/bars, antique shops, book and art stores, ice cream and so much more. A great park and market are just a few blocks away.| |Of course, all the credit goes to Christine and her staff. They were very accommodating, friendly and non-intrusive. They have done an excellent job of creating peaceful and warm ambiance. Thank you and cannot wait to return!
Cute, quiet, charming bed and breakfast on the water. It’s an incredible little gem. They have a wonderful breakfast and it’s walking distance to all of downtown! High highly recommended!!!
Very hospitable owner. Great hot breakfast. Several comfortable main areas to hang out & mingle with other guests. Extremely windy area. Balcony use can be limited. Local bar plays live music at concert level volume on weekends. Depending on your taste that's either fabulous or overwhelming.
Absolutely wonderful. Fantastic staff, great room where I didn't want to leave. Wendy the inkeeper was so welcoming at check in plus cooked a yummy hot breakfast. Very convenient location with a beautiful view of the water. I definitely recommend this B and B.
This bakery is AWESOME! I love the baked goods, drinks and seating areas inside and out! Besides the seating street-side, in front of the business, there is also a two-story dining area out back that is a lovely garden scape, and dog friendly too!
