Shogun - Japanese restaurant in Rockford - 293 Executive Pkwy, USA

Chef Diego was so much fun! He talked to everyone at the table and had some great jokes. The server was very nice and kept our glasses full. The food was delicious and I ate sushi for the first time and loved it! I haven't been to shogun in a long time but I will be back soon and will be requesting Chef Diego.

Wanted a nice experience for my wife's birthday. This place was our first experience together when me and my wife started dating over 20 years ago. Wanted to plan and surprise her by going back like we did so many years ago. Made reservations and sat in the lobby for awhile till called on. Food and cook was a blast. Seemed a bit rude that they arrived so fast with the check but totally forgot the birthday surprise I paid for. Sat there for at least an extra 20 minutes playing it off hoping someone was still coming but didn't. Had to break the surprise and ask someone in front of her. Then Wanted our picture up front by the wishing well and the girl that was originally going to take the picture looked right at us and walked out the door. We then had to ask someone at the counter to take the picture and wait. Turned out to be an expensive bad experience.

I always love the experience I get to have when I come to Shogun. When you first walk in, you're greeted with a plethora of delicious aromas. Whilst also being greeted with a friendly, "hello." I can't say I've ever had a bad experience here, and I'll say it with confidence that I've been here multiple times dating back to when I was a little girl. For every birthday I knew, I wanted to celebrate at Shogun. The staff have always been so kind and welcoming. The chefs always put smiles on your face and go out of their way to get you involved with the cooking process. I will say 100% certainty that Shogun is one of the best restaurants in Rockford.

Definitely a great place for a night out of food and drinks with friends. The food was delicious. Definitely sit at the Hibachi grill for an amazing experience. The service was great. The only negative is that my group and I waited for a long time for our chef and to get any food/drinks. It was worth the wait but if you're in a hurry try this place when you have time.

We were here for a birhday/graduation celebration. There were 12 of us and we had a blast. The chef was the best we've ever had. Everyone had an absolute blast.

We've been going here for many many years and are regulars. I've literally had a great experience every single time and the food is always fantastic. The service is top-notch and certainly one of the main reasons we come in so often. We absolutely adore Suzanne, and often come in just to see her. After a long work week, she knows exactly what we want, it's the perfect way to unwind. Highly recommend!!

Ally was amazing tonight! She was such a kind server and was so attentive! Mike was our chef and he was AMAZING!!! One of the best chefs we’ve had! Give him a raise!!! His skills were very unique and we all loved the dad jokes!!!!! 10009% recommend requesting both of these employees to ensure an amazing dining experience :)

Went here for dinner, picked a moderately priced meal that allegedly came with a 1 oz shrimp Appetizer, rice, tea soup and salad. Got our soup, salad and pictured below is the portion of shrimp Scraps we were served. For over $45 per Person this seems a bit skimpy of a portion when others around us got mega portions, Food was decent, the “chef” at our table had an attitude and was rude, when asked when we would get our rice, after everyone else got their fried rice and full meals, he became agitated and said “I am not your server”. Ok but we were not served our rice, we specifically also asked for the tea listed, never got it. At the very end of our meal our waitress finally came back and we asked about the rice and only then was it brought to us. Would not go back, the chef was rude, the staff Negligent. When management was told they said well maybe you got a cheap meal. Steak wasn’t cheap last time I checked.
