Shogun Hibachi Grill & Sushi Bar - Japanese restaurant in Statesboro - 609 Brannen St #5, USA

My new favorite Asian cuisine place! The food is sooooo good! Their seafood rice is feb best in town and what I crave now when I want fried rice. Sushi is great, entrees are wonderful. I do wish they had Bento Boxes at night but hey, gives me more reasons to go for lunch. I've been for both lunch and dinner in the dining room and always impressed with the flavors and service. I have not attended the Hibachi side in years so it's on my list. Went for date night on a Thursday and it did not disappoint! UPDATE: Are at the hibachi side in December '23 and of course it was just as good as dining room and entertaining! I was impressed with the chef remembering the sequence of seating and all the food orders as I was with a group of 12. It did take a little time to get started, but I think she to our party not being there at the same time. Will go again!!

I am allergic to eggs so instead of cooking the food on the grill, they brought it from the back. That would have been fine but Everything was cold and under cooked. It had no taste and it must have been sitting out for a long time. I also noticed dirty dishes in the area where we ate. There had been no one in that area the 20 minutes that we waited on the rest of our group to come ,the 30 minutes they cooked the others food, and the time it took to eat. They cleared our up dishes, but again left the others. It has a C rating. If I had known this, I would not have gone. When I complained about my food nothing was corrected. I will Never frequent this place again.

Our visit tonight was off.. I have noticed when busy the quality of service goes down here. This place has always been a favorite of mine.. but the quality has gone down for me. The sushi is the best part about the restaurant.

I had an awesome time for my birthday. Everything was great. I will check in again.

Shogun is EXTREMELY underrated. They have an amazing sushi menu, and it's ALWAYS FRESH! It's pretty much the same price if not CHEAPER than Seasons of Japan While offering the same services. 10/10 Would recommend!

Drove about an hour to come eat here and sadly was a bit disappointed. Our service was awesome, but as jokingly self-declared Sushi Connoisseur, the sushi itself was sub-par at best. I was extremely disappointed to see cobwebs along the hall ceilings and the restrooms left a lot to be desired. The ladies restroom had the cleaner just chillin on the hand rail and it looked and felt like they hadn't actually been cleaned at all.. There are a few other amazing sushi restaurants in Statesboro, so I will gladly go to them next time instead

As always, Shogun does not disappoint. Had to wait a bit till a Hibachi table was ready, but it was worth it. If you don't want vegetables with your meal, they give you an extra portion of fried rice, which I'm grateful for. Had a good show, and chefs were nice and playful. Interior was a bit lacking, but it didn't really bother me. Would absolutely recommend it if you're celebrating something or are just dining in a large group, but they do also have single and double tables, so it's fine for any sized group.

Knew it would be awesome. Place was packed as soon as we walked in. The service was stellar & knowledgeable. Very clean. Food was delicious. Worth every penny, in my opinion.
