Shogun Express - Japanese restaurant in Bowling Green - 4665 Scottsville Rd, USA

This Shogun Express food place offers excellent and quick service. The food was delicious, and the quality was exceptional as well.

Food is not priced too bad although it has gone up some. Service is quick. Overall taste and quality could be a lot better. Rice and meat seems dry and not fresh all the time. Sushi rolls taste oddly sweet.

I want to love this place, but I just can't. The steak always tastes more like hamburger. The scallops are about the only protein I enjoy from them. The rice is always disappointing compared to their competitors. I'm not saying their food is bad, it's just not worth the price they put it at. Plus, I thought it was expensive before, but just about everything on their menu was increased a few months ago as well. The people there are always nice and it's always super clean. I want to love it, I just can't. You get way more bang for your buck at other Japanese restaurants.

Food is always so fresh. There's never a wait for food to be made fresh. Some of the best tasting food you can get fast. And when their food truck is at NCM/ National Corvette Museum is always hits the spot after racing/autocross. It's the perfect type of food to get you going.

I've had the food truck at a few events and it's phenomenal but going into the store left a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). I got the teriyaki shrimp and scallops and the shrimp was ok (maybe a little overcooked) but the scallops were way overcooked and almost mushy.. Just not a good experience. The service was friendly and helpful but the food just wasn't as good as I'd had from their truck in years past.

We were looking for something a little different and Shogun worked out well for us. Not exactly a high-end Japanese steakhouse, but a good choice for something quick and tasty! My wife had the chicken/shrimp teriyaki bowl with fried rice, and I had the chicken/scallop bowl with noodles. Both were really flavorful and there was enough for a second meal. This will be another tasty option for our stops in Bowling Green.

When I first had the food here, I adored it. It was always amazing and delicious. The last two times I've had it however have been extreme disappointments. Today I got two two tempura rolls and the eggroll appetizer. Two eggrolls for $8, in my opinion is ridiculously high, especially when not cooked well. But I almost threw away the sushi. It was oily, burnt, and 1/3 smaller than it used to be. The increase in price and the subsequent decrease in quality leaves me with the decision to no longer eat here. It's a shame, but the food just isn't worth it.

The food was great. I loved the food at Shogun!! Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit dirty, sticky table but haven't been cleaned in a while. That staff wasn't very friendly either. Set a routine where the tables are cleared routinely and often and get the staff to smile a bit and you'll have standing room only.
