Ships Inn - Hotel in Hampton - 15 A St, USA

The staff is very nice and polite. It is undergoing some Reno and we had a new room. Quiet, clean , Bed well made. I will go there again and see the finished Reno. Affordable. Close to everything without the noise. Good sleep.

It was ok, the room was mostly clean, fridge and coffeemaker in the room, walking distance to everything. The pool is NOT heated and too cold to use which was very disappointing. Bathroom door wouldn’t close, radiator rusted and in need of paint, cobwebs and bug on light fixture.

We really needed two bedrooms because our 18 months often will not sleep through the night. We found this listing on Vrbo which is an apartment that is located at the Ships Inn. Listing was described a newly renovated apartment and the price was $575 after taxes in fees per night. Due yourself a favor and do some research before booking. So to start we noticed both the refrigerator and the microwave did not work. Kinda unbelievable but sad. At first they tried to fix it but it was obvious it wouldn’t work(majority of buttons including start didn't work on microwave and the cooling element on fridge would not turn on. I must say they were really nice and brought both a mini microwave which we placed under the mounted microwave and a mini fridge which we placed on ground next to fridge. Would have been nice to have a big fridge but we made it work. It was obvious they tried to cheaply renovate the unit. It had new floors, paint, and a newer ceiling fan. But bathroom vanity was falling a par, shower nozzle lost pressure due to some water leaking from bath nozzle, mold/rust or brown spots all on walls and ceiling of bathroom. Little things obviously don’t matter either. We had a remote with no batteries and no remote for the cable box. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way for the bathroom. The location is great but for the price I paid I would have expected much better.

Chose this place for location. 1 minute from beach. Service was fine. No breakfast. But the room... on the ground floor with a gloomy chipped and dirty covered concrete patio. Took us about 15 minutes to figure out how to lock the patio door to leave, which is the only access to the small room. The floor is covered with a permanent layer of dampness, like it was just moped, like there's no vapor barrier with the ground. I can only imagine what's under there or creeping up inside the walls.

I wanted to leave a review, after seeing so many of the negative reviews on here the night before our trip. My fiancé and I stayed here for the Fourth of July, and had a great experience. You can tell it’s an older hotel, but it’s easy to look past the cosmetic details. Parking was easy, the front desk staff was very helpful, and the room was cute, clean, and even had its own balcony. We stood on the hotel’s sundeck to watch the Hampton Beach fireworks, and we had a perfect view. Overall, we had a fantastic experience here and would definitely come back.

Positive: The staff particularly were very kind and wanted very much to ensure we had a nice stay. Proximity to the beach was prime. Negative: This hotel was a little janky, broken items (literal quarter sized holes on the shower where the bar used to be). Also missing and stained ceiling tiles, and the room was dirty. Mold/literal dirt in the bathroom. The balcony view was a junk filled alley.

STAY SAFE. We specifically booked our room for the spa bath, it did not work and half of the light fixtures in the bathroom do not work. We had to shower and use the toilet in the dark… sheets had obvious makeup stains on them. The light fixture over the bed was missing bulbs and glass sconce covers. We had asked the front desk politely if they had any cards or board games (we forgot ours at home), and the men behind the counter made me feel SO gross as woman as they looked and up and down and nonchalantly asked my partner, “why, are you bored?” I wouldn’t be surprised if they have cameras in some of the rooms. This place is vile, and there are better places to stay for better prices.

I do want to say this too! After looking at some reviews for the ships inn, I didn't see any bugs or hair or anything worrisome, we felt safe the linens were clean, there was fresh paint on the porch and the building itself. You can definitely tell they are trying to fix the place up more. After being traumatized at the Hampton Inn 10 minutes away we decided to try getting a room here. I will absolutely say everything was clean, smelled clean and looked great. The guy that helped us, im pretty sure he might have been the owner showed us two different rooms and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Everyone was so polite, and explained everything, even joked with us a bit too. The only problem we had here was our door lock was a bit busted and we didnt have a plastic liner in the showe (really not a big deal we were only here for maybe 14 hours just a night stay) but everyone was super kind in helping us. We were only there for a short period of time so they made it operate until maintenance could fix it. I genuinely can't say anything bad about this place, I feel like we would both definitely return to this hotel. We both felt safe during our stay, The pools were very, very clean. Everything at least to us seemed very nice and mostly well kept. A huge thank you to the folks that helped us during our stay. We hope to come back. I'm not sure if they do it for everyone but they did allow us to park in their lot for a short while after we check out. We were so appreciative of their generosity. We were pretty much a 2 minute walk from the beach which was a huge plus. Thank you again
