My husband and myself and my friend and her husband stayed her for two nights . The inn was wonderful. The rooms were very cozy and clean. Brenda made sure that breakfast and the snacks were always well stocked . We stayed in the Somerset room on the 1st floor . The huge balcony and rocking chairs made our stay so relaxing . We sat on the balcony and just watched the ships come and go. We parked our cars and did not need them while we were here . Everything is in walking distance . The restaurants, gift shop and ice cream place was an added bonus to our stay . Everyone was friendly and nice. The area is nice, small and quaint . We were able to peak in some of the other rooms when they were being cleaned . The young lady cleaning the rooms had a beautiful personality . We fell in love with the suites and will try and book one the next time we visit. The dining room area had tea, coffee, soda , water and baked goods for the guest . The breakfast was delicious. We are so glad we stayed here and will definitely be coming back. It’s like a wonderful hidden gem for relaxation and quiet time. We felt very safe staying here . Can’t wait to return.
My husband and I had a spectacular weekend at this lovely bed and breakfast. The innkeeper was incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was very nice with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I meant to ask the innkeeper what mattress they used, but unfortunately I forgot. There is also a balcony overlooking the canal where we enjoyed our breakfast. We will definitely be returning!!
We recently stayed at this B&B. Overall the room and the hotel were very quaint and clean, however this is Not Handicap approved! I am extremely handicap and my husband originally made reservations for this B&B as a surprise for my birthday. I kept asking my husband where he was taking me so that I knew what to pack. When I was told it was Chesapeake City, I was concerned. This area is not easy to get around when you can't walk without a cane. My husband did take out cancellation insurance but when he called 5 days prior to our arrival he was told that there would be NO Refund. They charged us $550+. They ended up offering us one free night which we took advantage of. Upon arrival, we walked around the corner to a fantastic restaurant which is located next door on the water. The problem was getting back to our B&B. We walked along the shore to our hotel but I had to get over a ravine and no railing to hold on to. I was hysterical by the time we reached the deck. The following day they wanted me to walk down the same street for the free breakfast. Overall, the room was very nice, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with disabilities.
Welcoming, Friendly, Comfortable and Clean! Had the best stay. Enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching the boats go by, this was the most relaxing view. All the guests were fun and friendly. The bed is so comfortable you don’t want to get out of it. We loved the young girl who took care of breakfast, she is a sweetheart. Can’t wait to come back to the Ship Watch Inn. I highly recommend this location.
We had never been to Chesapeake City before, and decided to stop there on our way home from a family visit.|Ship Watch Inn is on the shore of the Chesapeake-Delaware Canal and both small and large boats go by. Our room, and I think all the rooms, have access to the inn's balcony that looks out onto the Canal. It was a hot day, but our room was air conditioned and sitting on the balcony was pleasant. |The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was great. CC is a small town but it was fun to walk around it. They have a strong sense of their history and many of the houses have plaques in front that tell who built the house, often in the 1800s and who lived there.|We enjoyed CC and SWI greatly and plan to come back.
We recently stayed at this Inn. Overall this place is charming and very clean. My only issue is that this place is not Handicap approved. There aren't enough railings to get around safely. We ate at the restaurant next door and I was unable to walk up the steep hill with my cane so I had to walk along the shoreline to get back to the Inn. Unfortunately, we had to cross a ravine and a steep hill to get to the rear porch. I was hysterical as my husband tried to help me. The following day we were given a coupon to have breakfast down the road. Again, I was unable to do this. Other than these issues, the Inn was comfortable except that we were not able to adjust the temperature in the room. I've never stayed in a B&B so I'm unaware if this is common practice to be able to turn on the air conditioning or heat.
Beautiful room. Lovely view. Nice breakfast. We had a very nice stay. Would highly recommend. We stayed in the Talbot Room. Second floor. Pretty view of the canal and the Tugs and ships. Live Music drifts in from neighboring restaurants in the evening.
Had a Terrible experience, The very uncomfortable Mattress in room #1, is a "sloping mattress" where you slide off the mattress because it's worn out. The Security Code didn't work on three different Occasions with letting us in which was an annoyance and unnecessary thing to have to deal with, also, invest in some cork protector pads for the doors because every time someone shuts those doors in the other rooms, you hear this all through the night. If you are in room #1, you constantly hear the upstairs folks in any movement above you. We have stayed at Multiple B&Bs and we have never got up and left at 4 a.m. due to ALL the Dissapointing Factors that were not supposed to happen especially when you are there to celebrate a Monumental occasion such as ours, an 11th Wedding Anniversary. We had a horrible night sleep trying to get comfortable in that bed, and having to track down someone on the phone to give you the Correct code they admitted to Not entering right, a long with the Noise from everyone else's room, We won't be returning and we hope to SPARE another couple from the grief we endured there. The owner didn't care at all about our experience because she had already received payment so watch out for these Less than worthy go to business owners that are not about providing a satisfactory service of any type but to only recieve your money. Not good business practices there, she should have offered some type of refund being that we had to get up to leave and come home to get a good night's sleep!
We enjoyed the upper bay suite on the third floor. It was clean and roomy. I forgot my hairdryer and was happy to find one in the closet. We loved walking around the historic town and enjoyed dinner, breakfast and shopping all on the same block. We w

The atmosphere was a cozy, clean and beautiful. The server Nick, was a great waiter, friendly towards me, Mom, Grandma and my Aunt and served us our food on time. All the food was delicious too. I'd definitely go back there and I recommend others to
This place is truly fabulous, and they have apparently never stopped working to make it better. Our food was excellent! And the atmosphere here has always been awesome. It's absolutely worth the trip!
