This was an interesting experience, to say the least. The interior has a bit of a divey 1950's American diner feel. The owners make use of spaces in the dining area as storage for some of their supplies. No biggie though, we've seen plenty of that here in NY. This takes nothing away from the level of service, as the wait staff here were super friendly.
Saimin has a good chewy bounce that's reminiscent of Japanese ramen, though with a curly and uneven texture, it gives off a different and satisfying mouth feel as you chew, and is great for picking up the soups and broths that it is served in. That said, the Miso Saimin and Vegetable Saimin had similar tasting broths, and both were satisfying, albeit light in flavor, bowls of noodles.
The Fried Saimin, however, was very salty!!
Perhaps I didn't order the right things? I should like to withhold judgement until I've tried all of the offerings (there's a whole burger patty menu that I've yet to try), but as it stands, the noodle dishes seemed only okay.
Great Saimin with homemade noodles. Ordered with bbq stick. Excellent and prompt service. There was a line outside. Wait was short. Very busy lot of take outs and this was around 2pm on a Tuesday.
Cheap, fast, satisfying, and with super friendly sevice to boot. What's not to love?
P.s . Everything is better with a healthy dose of spicy mustard 😋
Relative to price, location, service, and food, it's a decent place for road trip road side quick lunch. It's a family operation from what I could see. It's a busy place around lunch time. I had soup noodles and the soup carries a strong pork essence that's unusual from typical USDA pork. The BBQ beef stick was probably one thing I could recommend. Staying with dry food here is probably best. The sandwiches looked good. Wonton is a no.
Mandatory clean comfort food on a rainy day. They have such a nice clear broth that is both salty and light. Ordered a very quick $8 small bowl of saimin, killed it, and left under 10 minutes.
I wanted to eat fried saimin and decided to go there.
The restaurant was very busy with locals. Everyone ordered saimin and cheeseburger. We ordered saimin, fried saimin, wanton soup and locomoco. All were good but a bit too salty.
The waiter and waitress were very kind and friendly.
We always visit Shige’s when we swing through town. Even though there’s usually a line outside, it moves quickly and the food is well worth it. We order the saimin, but the skewers are lovely too. The small is a good size portion, but it’s so delicious I always regret not getting the large! Super friendly folks, handmade noodles, just try!
This is the best Saimin ever!!! Noodles are bouncy and chewy - made fresh every morning. Broth has a lot of depth and it all goes so well with hot mustard and a cheeseburger. And the service is super friendly and kind. They offer lots of things on the menu, so I will be back for more!
We love this place! From day one Coach Noel was very friendly, willing to answer all our questions and was incredibly welcoming to the amazing community. There are classes for all our kids ages and us adults and we have all been loving learning both
Absolutely love this place. You have to try the witch doctor! The staff are super friendly and you can even try some local goat cheese from the sweet lands farm. Definitely worth the buy. I love that the area, while it doesn't look superb, is super r

I cannot recommend this experience enough! The view was beautiful, the atmosphere was fun, the food was yummy and the performances were AMAZING! Not only did the cast put on an energetic and fun show, but they also taught the crowd so much about Poly

A definite must if your in the area. Caught them just as they opened and only 2 other people in store. I got the birthday cake which was sooo good. Was able to sample the coffee flavored which I immediately regretted not getting. Very creamy and noti
