I have come to the conclusion that there is no shade in any of the parks in town. Nor grocery stores, malls, pharmacies, gas stations, restaurants, etc. No wait. If you visit Burger King, on the corner of Minnesota and Russell, and park on the west side, between 2:37pm and 6:48, there is actually enough shade for one car. But IFyoi are lucky enough to actually get the spot, you must endure the envious glares of passers-by who drive around in circles, like musical chairs, waiting for your brake light to come on. Then, mayhem! Everyone jockeys around, waiting. And even though you had accidentally put your foot on the brake, you feel obligated to just go ahead and leave to avoid the hurt glances aimed at you...or the lynching. I digress. Aren't parks supposed to have trees? And SHADE??? Sherman park has trees, but where's the shade. As I look out over the park now, it hit me. The vast majority of the trees are bunched together towards the middle of the park. I am crippled, so I rarely leve my car. The shade doesn't extend to the parking area. It's a beautiful park, though, with one of those massive, colorful combos of several slides, monkey bars, steps, tunnels, towers, and a partridge in a pear tree. All in a huge sandbox, so no one hurts themselves whenever they hit bottom. Which they will eventually. There is a really nice pavillion which can be reserved. I don't think there is a charge for use. It has electricity, but like every park in town, has no BBQ grill, so BYOG. There is a small backstop for softball and quite a few tables scattered around. All in all, it's fairly quiet, has little hills, a nice park. A word of warning. Keep a close eye on your kids. There is an abundance of older men who do nothing but sit in their vehicles and watch the kids playing on that contraption. Who knows? They might be grand fathers missing their grandkids. But, if there aren't any kids in the park at the times, these gentlemen will turn their attention to the ladies. I notice this because I am a widow, and have had the same person drive past were I am parked several times. Sometimes stopping. I looked up, s the desperate grin, and immediately dropped my eyes back to my phone. Ooh, cha! Barracuda! Just watch your kids.
Great Park. Beautiful views, nice shelter, hosts a fantastic bike race in the fall!
Really cute park. Has a very nice playground and plenty of space to have a get together with friends and family. Beautiful scenery. Park is kept very clean.
This is a beautiful place to sit and reflect, take a break or bring your family. They have large grassy areas, scenic areas and play equipment. Its always clean, tidy and serene.
My favorite park In Sioux falls. It has some great historical aspects that I really enjoy
Sioux Falls park system is excellent. Stopped for a quick picnic. Great view.
Nice park with wonderful views to the north; old Indian mounds & a great covered picnic area you can reserve ahead of time.
Beautiful park! Lots of trees. Nice playground equipment at both your and lower park. Lower it's right by the zoo.
Great park to take the kiddos. Playground, swings, tennis courts, tennis wall for tennis practice, shelter, open grass, next to the Midco indoor pool... I recommend taking your kids here if you are in the area.
Absolutely BREATHTAKING! It's hard to find something like this in a city. The main park is beautiful itself but the hiking trails are one of a kind! If it weren't for the sound of the nearby intestate (which is muffled when leaves are on trees), I wo
New parking lot is twice the size and much easier to get in and out of. Marked trails for off road biking. Good flat easy walk takes you to Dunham park to the South, and Family park to the North. Public restrooms.
A slice of heaven! This downtown park is so refreshing. Situated at the heart of Sioux Falls, you can enjoy biking with amazing views, river side walking and biking, and more.
This is the best kept secret in Aberdeen. Well maintained and great amenities for kids and adults alike. Beautiful walking paths, flowers, and trees to enjoy.
After visiting the Skatepark my first time, they have done an outstanding job keeping it in excellent shape. I saw this Skatepark in videos over 20 years ago, and it still looks like it just got built. The rest of the park, from what I've seen it loo
