One of my favorite walking areas nearby. Usually a fairly quiet walk along the river, there's a rocky beach when it's not flooded. No swimming allowed. The Al Foster (gravel trail) is a nice long mostly straight path along the river through the woods. There's some old railways and bridges and it connects to other trails like the Rock Hollow Trail. There's also a small sandy/dirt loop on the left side of the parking area that's nice also, less trafficked
A hidden gem. Beautiful trails for hiking, though the cyclists can be annoying. Big cliffs to climb with beautiful views and lots to see along the way. Can be an easy walk or challenging depending on the path you take.
Detoured through here while riding the Al Foster trail. It hasn’t rained in a couple days but the trail still had several very must spots. One was quite terrible and took us several minutes to maneuver past, as it crossed the creek and become quite slick and steep.
Great place close to st louis to get some "beach" time. It is on the meramec River so you need to be careful with the current, you will be fine with children if you stay close to the rivers edge. There is one small parking lot that could get full really fast. We will definitely be back!
I love this place, BUT , if you take your dog on the gravel bar, there are huge burrs that can get into their feet/fur
I often come here when looking for some peaceful trails to walk or bike. There is sometimes a weird odor in the area, but the beach itself is pretty good to chill out on or have a picnic. The trails are pretty sandy making it harder to bike on. It's a pretty remote place in the St. Louis suburbs and quite relaxing.
Perfect access to Al Foster and Stinging Nettle trails, as well as very nice sandbars in the Meramec for fishing or just general frolicking in the river. Be aware that there are no facilities at this trailhead, so if you want bathrooms or water fountains you will need to go to the Al Foster Memorial Trailhead to the east, or to Castlewood State Park to the west.
I would recommend to bring a chair and to wear sturdy water shoes or sandals. Quiet beach not overly crowded.

Has a playground for younger kids and one for older kids. The older kids one has a nice focus on climbing. Thereâs also a workout setup thatâs pretty neat.
I have two boys (10 and 3) and this is one of their favorite parks. Itâs got a really big and unique playground that keeps them entertained for hours. They especially love the three story structure that leads up to two slides. Itâs beautiful and

I grew up in STL area though I haven't lived here for almost 40 years. The best Italian food was at The Hill. However this place in Baldwin breaks that trend. It is clearly a 5 star experience. It blows away places we have been in AZ and most of C

Are you aware of how Papa Murphy's works?-- You order your pizza and you pick it up and it's all assembled, but you need to cook it. However, their pizzas are very tasty and it only takes 10 to 15 minutes for it to be ready to eat. The pizza I got wa
The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good! I recommend the Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Perfect amount of blue cheese and buffalo sauce! My only complaint would be that it didnât seem like our table had been wiped down. However, they wer
