Had the most amazing experience at this fantastic family resort right in the heart of Waikiki Beach! The location was absolutely perfect, with so much to do around the area, from shopping to dining out. The customer service was beyond exceptional, and they really went above and beyond for us when we brought up a concern at the pool. The entire property was pristine and clean, and the rooms were simply amazing! The amenities were top-notch, including a great pool for families and an infinity pool for adults only. Beach access was incredibly convenient, and you could even book your own Cabanas early in the day. The coffee house is amazing! I recommend you get coffee from there! The resort breakfast was great! And very consistent! There are two restaurants we visited. Which were good for a quick bite or grab a snack by the beach! I recommend leaving the resort For more options, lots of restaurants in the walking distance. I highly recommend this resort for anyone visiting for the first time or for families looking for the perfect combination of shopping, dining, and relaxation.

When visiting previously, we've been very happy with the hotel, location, and service. As of September 1, however, Marriott has failed in its negotiations with the hotel workers union and a strike has resulted. It seems like the workers have reasonable requests. According to some of the striking workers, hotel management had ample time to warn guests (negotiations have been ongoing since April), but declined to do so. On-property restaurants are closed, housekeeping is unavailable, valet is closed, etc. Limited supplies such as towels, toilet paper, and tissues are available on a self-service basis near the elevator. These amenities and services are important parts of the hotel's value, but so far there hasn't been any effort for hotel management to make this right for guests. I wish I didn't have to cross the picket line, but at this point the room is paid for. I'm glad the workers were understanding of this. If you still have the option to make alternate arrangements, consider doing do.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort and overall, it was a fantastic experience that I would rate 4 out of 5 stars. The hotel boasts an incredible location right on Waikiki Beach, offering stunning views of the ocean and the iconic Diamond Head. Waking up to such beautiful scenery each morning was a highlight of our trip. One of the standout features of the resort is the infinity pool. It’s truly a slice of paradise! The views from the pool are breathtaking, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. We spent many enjoyable hours there, and it was a great place to meet new friends and connect with fellow travelers. The atmosphere was lively yet laid-back, which added to the overall enjoyment of our stay. The hotel itself was impeccably clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The amenities were well-maintained, and we appreciated the attention to detail throughout the property. However, I did find the price a bit steep for the value provided. While the location and amenities are excellent, it felt like some aspects could have been enhanced to justify the high cost. Dining options within the hotel were decent, but we found that exploring local eateries offered better value for our meals. In summary, the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort is a beautiful property with stunning views, a fantastic infinity pool, and a welcoming atmosphere. While the pricing may be a bit on the higher side, the overall experience was enjoyable, and we made some wonderful memories there. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the heart of Waikiki!

Oceanfront rooms may not have direct ocean view at sheraton Waikiki nowadays.|I have stayed at Sheraton Waikiki in a gorgeous ocean front room with my family 10 years ago. The memory was so good so this year I booked two ocean front rooms to enjoy a short vacation with three of my best friends to celebrate our August birthdays. yes we were all born in August. We arrived at the hotel on August 25 around 1 AM. We were assigned with two rooms on the fourth floor and found out there were no ocean view but a view of the family pools and a low rise building which blocked the ocean from us. While talking with the front desk lady, she said those rooms are considered as oceanfront, but if we would like direct Ocean view, we have to upgrade to higher floors which called “direct oceanfront” room. It wasn’t as tricky 10 years ago, it felt like a scam but we were too tired to argue and agreed to pay the difference.|So, be careful when booking your rooms. There are quite a few different types of oceanfront rooms now. The lady told us there are direct Ocean front room, deluxe ocean front room, and premium ocean front room. Apparently, the oceanfront rooms we booked before upgrading is ordinary oceanfront rooms without ocean view. 🤣 Good luck!

We flew in the day before our Hawaiian cruise, and wish we could have stayed longer. The resort is absolutely beautiful! The hotel lobby is located inside a shopping area with stores, restaurants. located right on the beach! Within walking distance to high end stores and even more restaurants. There was even a fireworks display - it was amaxing!||So looking forward to going back and staying a lot longer!

The short version - Beware: It didn’t matter that I have elite status, it took 5 hours to get screwed and not get the ocean front room we booked for a 7 night stay/special occasion, and to end up with a room staring at the dirty buildings, instead of the ocean. Neither your reservation, nor status, nor what they tell you actually means anything here. This is a place you want to stay far far away from for special occasions if you have any hope of getting what you paid for. ||Details:|Tried to stay here while we got married and honeymoon. Paid for the upgraded room, with early check in, to make it a special occasion and got totally hosed. ||We called the hotel before we booked to confirm that we could book the hotel room using chase points and still apply my nightly upgrade awards for this 7 night stay. They said yes, no problem. They told us to just check in on the app in advance and apply the nightly upgrade awards. No problem. When I tried to do that, the app said it was an ineligible rate. When I messaged the front desk, they said there was nothing we could do, but they’d put our situation in the notes to try and give us priority. Fine. This is why we paid extra for an upgraded room to start with, so we’d be happy with the room we paid for and not have to rely on the upgrade to be happy. The upgrade would just be a bonus. ||Arrived at our early check in time. There was a 20 minute wait even in the elite status line. Fine. ||Finally got to the front and was told our room wasn’t ready yet. But we could drop off our bags and come back in 3 hours (normal check in time) and our room would be ready. Fine. We can explore for a couple hours before checking in. ||Come back several hours and they closed the elite status line and it’s just a single, 45 minute line snaking through the lobby. Fine. ||Finally got to the front and was told our room wasn’t ready and we’d have to come back at 6pm. Then the story changes to, they don’t have the room we booked available. Then the story changes again and she’s going to move us to the room we booked, but on a higher floor. Fine. We didn’t get an upgrade, but we paid for a room we’d be happy with and got it. But…||We get to the room, and there’s somebody else’s luggage already in there, so we go back downstairs and wait another 20 minutes while the person who helped us frees up so we don’t have to wait in the 45 minute line again. Fine. ||Now the story is, they don’t have our room at all and no amount of waiting is actually going to do anything. So it’s either take the downgraded room or…take the downgraded room. It’s really not much of a choice, so we’ll at least check it out. Turns out - not getting the room you reserved for a week long special occasion is disappointing and staring at dirty buildings is less picturesque than staring at the ocean. ||So we should probably get some kind of refund, right? All we got was “We’ll waive the resort fee’s”. That’s nice, but I want the difference in room rates too. Nope. Not a thing apparently. Yes - we’ll be working on this in the next couple days, we were just exhausted and wanted to get into air conditioning at this point. ||Summary - Spent 5 hours not getting the room we booked and are now staring at dirty buildings instead of the ocean on our honeymoon. ||I travel a lot for work and I’ve chosen Marriott as my loyalty program but it apparently means nothing. I used to wish there were more Hyatt’s around because their points were actually redeemable for nice stays in places, but since they got rid of the Hyatts near where I travel for work, I built up status with Marriott. What a colossal waste of time. I’m just going to book the nicest hotels wherever I travel regardless of brand because for the life of me, I don’t see any tangible benefit of elite status through Marriott. We paid for the room we wanted so we didn’t have to rely on the upgrade and we still got screwed, but this was the one opportunity for my status to help out in any way and it failed miserably. I’m honestly a little baffled and a little sad - what was the point of earning status?||The only silver lining is since we don’t have to worry about status anymore, it lets us try out all of those smaller, well reviewed hotels. Since we’re getting screwed anyway and apparently since we’re paying ocean front rates to stare at dirty buildings, we might as well actually pay ocean front rates and get an ocean front view somewhere. We would have left last night, but we were exhausted and sad, so we’ll be looking to move today. ||I’d say if you’re booking this hotel because it’s a Marriott resort on the beach, I’d look for the nicest resort regardless of chain. There are several smaller/independent hotels nearby that we’re looking at now that will probably do the basics like give us the room we paid for. Good luck!!||It is a little liberating to not be worried about Marriott status anymore though. It’s nice not to have to worry about getting/maintaining status only to ultimately not get anything out of it anyway. It opens up a lot of opportunities to stay at nicer, non-giant-chain hotels. ||Notes:|1. The people at the front desk were very nice and probably genuinely tried to help, but ultimately failed. As much as I wanted to be angry, we couldn’t be angry at them. They were just stuck in a bad situation as much as the rest of us.|2. This review totally ignores the current labor strike and lack of hotel services and housekeeping - that’s just bad luck/bad timing on our part. It is weird to see toilet paper and toiletries in the lobby of every floor, but that’s a separate review for later.|3. The property seems nice, it’s just hard to look at it without being resentful at the moment.

Our family had a great stay at the Sheraton Waikiki. Quiet, clean, and comfortable room with a great view of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, and the Pacific Ocean. Amazing hotel with a wonderful pool area and beach. Food was excellent and so was the service. First stayed at this hotel in 1972. So nice to be back!!! No complaints at all. We’ll be back. Thanks!!!

Amazing hotel! Lovely room, super comfy beds. Our view from the oceanfront room was worth the extra. We spotted turtles almost every day from our balcony. Lots of extra little things in the hotel like a pump for floaties, a library where you can leave the books you’ve finished with and pick up a new one etc. Free table football and snooker for bigger kids. All of the staff were so happy and friendly. My kids loved the pool and the beach. We were sad to leave!
