Sheraton McKinney Hotel - Hotel in McKinney - 1900 Gateway Blvd, USA

I tried no to check bad reviews about this hotel but I ended up writing one.||Lounge closed when it should be open 2 or 3 hours before the published time. The AC was not working properly in the room. I would not recommend staying here until they take care of important issues in the property. There are better Marriott around the area.

This is probably one of the better Sheratons I’ve stayed in over the past couple of years. The property looks nice from the outside and inside it’s really nice. The room was clean and very nicely kept up, even though it’s the older design and will soon be refurbished. ||Checking in was decent, the lady was friendly. The property has a lot of rooms, so it was quite a walk to my room after getting to my floor. I liked pretty much everything about the stay – EXCEPT the lobby restaurant/bar. I got a card when checking in for a free glass of wine, so I went down to get one. About ¾ of the tables in the restaurant had dirty dishes which haven’t been cleaned yet. There were a lot of people also dining at the bar and other tables. There was ABSOLUTELY NO EMPLOYEE in the area… none to be found! I figured they were getting something from the kitchen and decided to wait. I waited so long that I felt I might as well wait this out. After 15 minutes, I got tired and walked away… never saw an employee – THIS IS RIDICULOUS and demonstrates very poor management.||If it weren’t for the horrible experience in the restaurant/bar, I would have given this property 5 stars.

We will never come again! My husband and I have date nights here and there. Which as parents we get to take the night on the town. I was super excited because we booked with Sheraton before, and had the best time of our lives. So I instantly booked with Sheraton in McKinney. When we arrived I called the front desk, and explained that the room was extremely hot. Also that the water was cold, and the young man says he will send someone up. The gentlemen comes to the room, and says hey if it continues to be hot. In the morning inform the front desk, and they can handle the situation during check-out and apologized for the issue. Well in the morning, during check-out I explained to the supervisor, the issue. TEXAS is hot!!! The supervisor looked at me and said what would you like me to do about it? I asked what is my options, that had I known the hotel was going to be hot!!!!!! I could have to another hotel that was just as nice. She than proceeds to say the hotel is extremely old. Since the night desk did not make any notes on the room. She could not comp the room, but as a guest that is not my problem. I called someone to come to the room. That is your staff issue. so we only received $10 off. So after this bad experience!!!!!!!! I will take my family to another nice hotel, that can accommodate the guest! Make sure that guest are satisfied and to have some kind of compassion for the guest!!!! Not WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO DO ABOUT IT!!!! I felt under valued, especially for a nice night out, and I have to sleep in a hot room, and take a cold shower. No this is super ghetto and so unprofessional. I will never return, and find another nice hotel that will cater to there guest. Customers pays everyone bills, including the owners of the hotel and this is horrible!!!!

We booked the Sheraton for our wedding block. Our wedding party all throughout enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were clean and in pristine condition. We received so many comments from our wedding party and guests complimenting the mattresses and we agree with them! We were able to do our rehearsal practice session in the large hallways near the ballrooms and got everyone together for a welcome social at the hotel bar and lobby area. The drinks and bartenders were great and was a perfect way to start our wedding weekend off right! Thank you to the Sheraton McKinney for accommodating us and helping make our wedding weekend a breeze.

Other than the name "Sheraton" placed everything, this hotel is not nicer than a Fairfield Inn. Do not pay for breakfast with your room, because the buffet is slightly below average and is not worth the cost. Staff was helpful, but everyone seemed like they had better things to do or were operating on their own agenda--which was odd for a nicer hotel.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL. My family reserved a room at this hotel 3 months prior to our arrival. After a 6 hour trip and arriving at midnight, we were told they "over booked" the hotel and we were given 1 choice, 1 king size and no cots were available. This doesn't work for a family of 4. So we were forced to find a different hotel (at midnight) and ended up having to pay significantly more. They called me the next day and offered "a discounted" room rate, after I balked at that, they then offered a free night or bonvoy points. I told them I would need to speak to the wife and would call them right back as it was a hassle to pack up and move at this point and I wasnt certain if she wanted to do that. I called back and got a voice mail so I left a message. Crickets... I decided to email them after we got home, only for them to tell me multiple attempts were made to rectify the problem and nothing more could be done. We went back and forth and the final email I received involved "copying" her supervisor. I waited several days for his response and never heard from him. There should have been a solution offered by the receptionist at the time of check in if they knew they over booked. This would have avoided all of this. Avoid this hotel, even if it means paying extra elsewhere.

The staff at the restaurant/bar was easily the highlight of my stay. They made me feel right at home by showing all the games and TV channels that I requested. Undoubtedly the most friendly staff I've encountered at any Sheraton property. Shout out to Elizabeth, Deb and Tajha.

Because it's attached to a convention center, there is no free continental breakfast offered at this location. It's $12/person for the same generic hotel breakfast. The room itself was nice, the iron didn't work and despite requesting one from the front desk, a new one was never sent to our room.
