Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa - Featured Reviews (2712)
Our family had a great stay at the Sheraton Maui.|Quiet, clean, and comfortable room with a great view of Black Rock, Molokai, and the Pacific Ocean. Amazing hotel with a wonderful pool area and beach. Incredible views from the new lobby area. Food was excellent and so was the service.|No complaints at all. We’ll be back. Thanks!!!|***A big shout-out to our Housekeeping Maid Rosita. She was so kind and accommodating***
The location can't be beat but just be aware that this resort may not meet your expectations. The condition of the rooms we were given was dated and very worn - with an outstanding view. ||They are carpeted - which is a terrible idea for a beachfront property. We were told they were aware of how bad/dirty it looked but that they "just made a bad flooring choice." Both rooms we were assigned had damaged furniture and the pool/resort furniture was trashed across the property. Our room was clean, but the pool area consistently had trash and very few attendants; we had to request towels at the front desk because the staff areas near the pools were never monitored, as far as we could tell. This was a major difference from the other resorts (including a different Marriot property) we stayed at while on Maui, without a difference in price, so you can definitely find a better experience.||We tried to bring our issues with this resort to the attention of management during and after our stay, and were given a new room in a similar condition, just with a better view; Marriott says we should have moved to a different property when we saw the condition at check-in, which as you may be aware, is difficult at the last minute, on Maui in July, with a family. *At Marriot's urging,* we followed up with the property after we checked out, but now two emails to that manager have been unreturned, and it has been more than two weeks. ||I'm reluctant to leave a bad review, and we would not have if the manager had replied, but it seems there is not a lot of interest in resolving these issues, so I'm attaching the photos, and you can judge for yourself! It's possible we caught it at a bad time, but the total lack of response from the property is also indicative of issues and a lack of concern about people coming back/bad reviews. The views are wonderful (but they are from most properties on Maui), and the snorkeling is phenomenal (but the beach is not owned by the hotel so you can stay anywhere in the area and get that). This could go back to being a beautiful property if the rooms were remodeled and the management gave the same attention to guests as its competitors. Maui as a whole is a five-star experience, but this property isn't what it could be.
Staff, pool, Luau, cleanliness, and location were all excellent. Short walk down the beach to Whalers Village where we ate our dinners at several popular restaurants, got supplies at ABC store, and caught the catamarans for snorkeling trip and sunset cruises.
Although we had a great ocean view, the room itself was just okay. Needed new carpet at a minimum. We were in one of the three buildings on the very north side, behind/above Black Rock (see photo). It was a very long walk to pool, and even longer to lobby, plus several different elevator trips each time. I would avoid those buildings if you have any mobility issues whatsoever.
Housekeeping, front desk, bell boys? And pool area servers, etc were all friendly and smiling. We did not eat at the hotel, except for lunch items & cocktails while at the pool.
We setup on the north side (deep end) of the large winding pool. Front row loungers were usually available up until around 8:30am, other back rows had availability at most times.
Bottom line is we would for sure stay there again, but in one of the buildings closer to lobby, pool, beach, etc. Aloha!
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Sheraton. We’ve previously stayed at the Westin and Ritz Carlton and we actually liked this better.||Their pool, grounds and location next to Black Rock were OUTSTANDING. I think the best pool in Maui. Loved how there were quiet secluded parts of the pool river where you could get shade, waterfalls, beautiful flowers/trees and privacy. It’s 4 min walk to Whalers village where there is shopping and a ton of food. The nightly show is great. The singer next to the pool in evening is amazing. Loved all the Hawaiian classics. My favorite. We sat in the pool with our Lime Da Coconut cocktails and listened to him every night at sunset. Then we’d watch the Cliff Dive experience. One of kind on the island.||The architecture of the hotel is so iconic. I love how it’s kept the feel from the 60s original building. We had a great room that was closer to the pool and beach so didn’t have to walk far. And our view of beach was outstanding.||The rooms were ok. Not modern but fine. Mini fridge, balcony large bathroom. I wish they had kitchens or microwave so I could reheat leftovers. Also wish they had screens on the door so we could sleep with door open at night and listen to ocean. But we couldn’t because the birds would come in. ||I’m a Titanium Bonvoy member. We got the continental breakfast included with our status which as fine. You can upgrade $18 for the hot buffet items. ||Lastly, my 10 year old wants me to mention that the game room has free retro video games like Marvel Pinball, Joust and Tempest. We went there in early mid day when UV Index was super high to prevent sunburns.
Building 3 next to conference rooms and lobby. Beach and Pool are scenic. The room is simple but very clean. Keep curtains closed so room can be cool at night. Ka'anapali golf course is 20 minutes walking distance. My husband played both golf courses. Whaler's Village is a 7 minute walk with restaurants, shops, and ABC store (water, snacks, fruit, shirts, towels, sunscreen, etc.) Concierge Older blonde woman was not helpful stating golf course was 45 minute walk, prices were expensive, etc. Behavior was sad & disappointing. Fortunately, hotel lobby staff, restaurant servers, hostess, were Professional, Kind, Helpful & Courteous. Breakfast buffet has a wide array of foods that changes daily. Trilogy morning snorkeling and evening sunset cruises are a must, with boarding on the beach. Luau was wonderful. Viator Private Jeep Road to Hana Tour picks you up at hotel and you get to view the most amazing sites. I attended a business conference and took spouse, stayed a few extra days. We enjoyed our Maui Memories.
We booked a 5-night stay (July 03 - July 08)||) based on positive reviews but had to leave early for the Ritz, despite paying for the entire stay, due to our disappointing experience.||1. Poor Welcoming: The reception staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming.||2. Unsatisfactory Upgrade: As Platinum Elite members, we were "upgraded" to a Moana Tower ocean view room on the first floor. The view was poor, and the tower was far from the main entertainment area. After complaining, we were moved to a room with a better view but it was much smaller than expected.||3. Overpriced Breakfast: They charged $40 for our 13-year-old daughter's breakfast who just consumed rice, and the Platinum Elite benefit only covered a continental breakfast just for two, not the buffet and you pay another $15 to upgrade to buffet. It felt like a money grab.||4. Lack of Management Response: Attempts to provide feedback to management were ignored. No official email or survey was received, and our email went unanswered.||Overall, the experience was not worth the high cost. We won’t return to this hotel and recommend choosing another Marriott property in Maui to avoid wasting money and time. This was the worst experience we've had with the Marriott brand.
Scuba diving with Black Rock Scuba is amazing! Stay at the resort, walk out to the beach and Jose, Anika and Chris are there to take you diving. Choose from times in the morning, midday or night. We chose all three and had a great time! ||They dive the site right at the beach and it's so chill to just walk right out into the water and start diving. No long boat rides - just awesome diving!||We saw so much life and the backdrop topography of the Black Rock is just fantastic. So many cool spots for sea life to hide and for you to find!||We saw eagle rays, more turtles than we could count, all kinds of fish, moray eels, slugs, octopus - you name it, this site has it!||The night dive was unreal - Chris showed us pictures of creatures ahead of the dive that you would not believe you could see for yourself without a National Geographic crew - and we saw a ton of them in just one dive. Unbelievable! There was a massive hermit crab that carried anemones on his back crawling up the rock wall - just like in the reference book! ||To top it all off, when we surfaced, we saw a "lunar rainbow" also known as a moonbow in the night sky - look it up, it's a thing! ||Just an unreal package - great crew, very safety-minded, relaxed setup and world-class diving - we can't wait to dive with them again!
Everything about the hotel was great. The staff did a great job, the location was great, the views were amazing. On our last night we even saw sea turtles in the water. I'd stay here again.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lahaina! The hotel is very conveniently located with lots of shops and restaurants nearby and the reserved parking is right up the street. We stayed in their Queen City View Lanai as we knew we would b

Honua Kai is a great place to stay. The grounds are incredible. The beach was great. And our room was immaculate. Having pool side service from Duke's was also a big plus.
I visited Hawaii solo for a month stay from the UK and my week-long stay at Makai Sunset Inn was wonderful and memorable. I can't recommend it highly enough as an authentic Maui experience and an antidote to the larger over-priced resorts - you even
Intro Dive in Maui with Zach:
I can't say enough good about this small, locally-owned business! My son and I dove with Zach on two occasions and both were great experiences. He was very patient and safety conscious throughout the process, as this

We were in Maui for a couple weeks and our friend took us to The Block for a morning workout. There was a lot of energy in the workout that morning, I was hooked and attended the morning sessions most days. The crew at The Block design fun yet challe
Totally loved the vibe of this little cafe! Thereâs not a lot of local breakfast optionâs around Lahaina, but this was on point. We had the best açaà bowl of our life and the Silas was top notch. Affordable and great place for local breakfas
