Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center - Featured Reviews (2493)
I was at the Sheraton for a convention. My overall experience was very positive. Meeting rooms were appropriate. The convention was able to set up a lounge as an additional place for receptions and drink purchases. The restaurant was good for all meals, and service was especially good there. They have a small place in the lobby in the morning where you can purchase coffee and food for a continental breakfast. I did valet parking, and it worked well. The location is great, since you can easily visit the Crown Center restaurants and shops, as well as Union Station. It seems the hotel has done recent renovations. My room was immaculate and comfortable. Everything about it was fine. Crown Center itself is a great location in the city. I've stayed a lot of places in Kansas City, and found this hotel to be among the best.
The room was large and spacious. My one complaint is no mattress cover. I love when hotels have their mattresses completely covered as it helps me inspect for bugs! That’s one update they could do here. The night shift front desk woman at check in was less than pleasant. But overall fine stay where I got the rest I needed.
I stayed here for a conference and it was a great stay! The employees were kind and helpful, and the views were amazing from the 35th to club level floors on top. The room was very clean and food was great. I like the conference halls for any event as well. The gym was clean and had machines that a normal gym would have.
Stayed here many times. They should plan for any conference since they know when guests arrive to check in prior to beginning of conference registration. Parking is a pain for me, but compared to other places where people are used to parking garages it's not that bad. Service was good, except the in house bar - spectators, again, couldn't serve people in a timely fashion. Facilities are nice and plenty of options for any size needed. A little bit of a walk from power and light, but not terrible.
We were in Kansas City for a convention that was being held at the Sheraton. Our rooms were part of the bloc that had been set aside for the convention and I was surprised at how spacious the room was. King sized bed, a daybed/chaise, and a desk. The bathroom was good sized and well lit. One little thing that shouldn't mean as much as it did: when you open the door into the room, you are in an area that has a wall in front of you, the bathroom to one side and the closet to the other. You can't see into the room from the hallway AND light from the bathroom isn't shining directly into the room, a great feature for when someone gets up in the middle of the night. The bed was comfortable and the sounds from other rooms minimal. We had an issue with the toilet running on, but didn't report it until check out, so they didn't have a chance to fix it while we were there.||When we arrived in KC, the temps were nearly 80 and within a few days they didn't get out of the 30s and the hotel didn't keep up with the change so well. The public spaces and convention rooms grew cold and were just starting to come out of it by the time we left. The hotel is HUGE at 40 floors and conference rooms and other amenities across three floors with huge spaces in between. Almost too much. Our 1000 person convention was a bit lost in all that space and that might have been handled better (not sure if that was a hotel thing or the convention).||The on-site bar wasn't managed particularly well, but that's a different review.||I was impressed with the hotel, the people we talked with, and using the Bonvoy app to manage our stay.
This was a wonderful stay! The room was large and very clean. The view was beautiful from the 35th floor. My only issue was no microwave in the rooms but they do have them at the end of the hall. The service was spectacular from day 1. It was close to shopping, many options to eat, and lots to do.
I just stayed here for a conference in the Crown Center and enjoyed the stay. The hotel is older for sure but appears to be pretty well maintained. It could use some updating for sure but they have done well with the hotel despite its age. The rooms were pretty nice and well appointed. The service at the hotel was top notch. The front desk was very pleasant and super helpful. The layout of the lobby, mezzanine, and executive levels could use some improvement because it can be tedious to navigate between the levels via the stairs and escalators. The access to/from the hotel to the conference area could be improved and access to/from the outside on the conference side would be really nice. A big positive was the Link access to several of the surrounding buildings. This air conditioned walkway was really handy once I found out about it. The staff should let folks know it’s there at check in (don’t get me wrong though the staff was great). Overall I think this is a nice hotel and I would have given it a higher rating if not for the age showing a bit and the layout of the first three floors.
Paid for a breakfast buffet, upon arrival they told us breakfast was 6-10. Woke up this morning went down, and was told the buffet of biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, that we paid for was not available and we could have coffee. We were denied a refund for the fraudulent buffet.
The television didn’t work, and the receptionist was rude, and told us to figure it out on our own.
I would not stay here, it is not worth the price and you will not receive what you pay for.
